It was a very pleasing experience with a clean room that has a nice view to the beach. The bathroom was very neat and clean which I liked the most. The staffs are available whenever you need them.

The location was of this hotel was great.

Pros: The location was great. It was nice having valet parking and they were fast and courteous. But it was a little expensive and we didn't know about it
Cons: We had traveled all night and arrived at about 11:30 a.m. Early in for people with all night flights would be nice.
Location: Great location. Good eating places and beaches near by.
We liked this hotel. The only problem was the closet door was off its rail and hard to use. We were returning from a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kolonia, Pohnpei. We had 4 big suitcases and 2 carry-ons. It was a small room and finding walking space with all our luggage and without use of the closet was a little difficult.

Great location

This hotel has been undergoing a much needed facelift for 2 years, but the quiet end of Waikiki is worth it.

Splendid views.

Pros: Convenient position.
Cons: Outside noise.
Location: Convenient position.
Our room was a decent size and we'd paid more for an ocean view. The downside was that there is no double glazing and the windows are the louvred kind that don't shut tightly and noise from the street and the airconditioning units in the hotel opposite is loud all night. We survived with earplugs.

Don't waste your time and money

Pros: Valet.
Cons: Everything.
Location: Good location. It's located at the end of the Waikiki strip, across the Honolulu Zoo.
Beds were comfortable yet this hotel was such a disappointment. We paid for an ocean view room and got a diamond head view. Misleading photos! I called front desk regarding the possible mishap but nope. Unfortunately, the only way you can see the ocean was off the lanai and it was a PARTIAL OCEAN VIEW. Photos were misleading. Paint in the bath tub was chipping off, faucet was leaking, and carpet needs changing. This hotel needs an update. Customer service? Was ok. Evening front desk employees were much friendly and polite versus the day time front desk workers--plain rude with an attitude. Please save your time and money, I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Love this moderately priced hotel
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: View, location, staff, price, and lovely cappuccinos made to order at the shop in the lobby
Cons: Nothing
Location: Across from the zoo and large park, so there are no buildings on that side to obstruct your view of Diamond Head or the ocean; 1 block from the beach
We always stay in this hotel. Why? Because the view from the window and balcony is unobstructed looking straight at Diamond Head. Because we can hear the lions roaring, birds singing and monkeys howling at dawn from the zoo right across the road. Because the beach is one block away. And because the staff is always so nice. The lobby and elevators had been redone since we were there a year ago and are great, with room cards now required in the elevators for more security. When we found our new-looking pretty big refrigerator didn't work, it was replaced immediately. When we couldn't figure out how to work the deadbolt on the door, a staff member came up right away to show us. The room we had had no neighboring room on one side and we couldn't hear anything from the room on the other side. Very quiet. Our tub and sink had old, cracked porcelain and the carpet in the room had seen better days, but so what? The beds were really comfortable, the TV was huge, the Hawaiian breeze was wonderful, the view was priceless, the location was great, the price was right, and we always just feel really happy in this hotel.

Good hotel for the price

This was a great location, it was towards the end of Waikiki so there wasn't as much traffic, the beach in front wasn't as crowded, so it was great for just laying out. The staff was nice, bell hops were friendly and really helpful when you asked them questions. The valet was a little much compared to what I've seen at other hotels but they took care of you and it was kind of nice not to worry about parking. Overall I think it was a great price and quality for Waikiki.

Disappointed with The Queen
Posted Jan 27, 2013
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Located one and half blocks fromm Waikki.
We recently stayed at the Queen Kapiolani in Honolulu. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our room was out of the 60's. The sink and tub had been repainted and the new paint was chipping off. The carpet definitely need to be replaced. the hotel photos misrepresented the accommodations.
