“Thanksgiving Trip”
The hotel was good, however there were several weddings that took place at the hotel and they shutdown the pool and the bar one afternoon through the entire evening and we were not told about in advance. They also blocked being able to pull up a car to the hotel during the weddings
“awesome pools”
The hotel facilities were awesome. The room service and cleaning not so great.
“Excellent Hotel w/ Best Location and Views - Will Stay Here Again!”
The location of this hotel is PERFECT. It's right on the beach and in the middle of all the restaurants and shops in Waikiki. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend and I LOVED the view from our deluxe oceanfront room. I would highly recommend booking this room if it is within your budget. Both pools were very nice and relaxing though chairs did fill up pretty early in the day. People reserved chairs (despite the signs saying you couldn't) and expected others to honor their book, towel, or even pillow that came WITH the chair as their way of claiming the chairs. The Infinity Pool is for guests 16yrs and up only and is good for lounging. You can order drinks from the side of the pool! The Helumoa Playground is bigger and more family friendly with slides. The breakfast buffet at KAI Market was excellent but many may find it expensive if you don't get a deal on it (book with your room if you can)! Rum Fire and Edge Bar seemed overpriced for the selection but the ambiance and views were great. It can get pretty windy at both areas so you have to watch your napkins, menus, etc. Overall, I loved this hotel and expect to be back!
“good but..”
good but as i heard from my friends ...though good location for shoping and swim...
“"Remodel gained. Magic lost."”
I have been a returning guest of The Sheraton Waikiki for over the past 20 years. I spent summers as a child there, I honeymooned there and now I have started bringing my children. The Sheraton Waikiki had always held a special place in my familys memories. After this last trip I am sad to say we will not be returning. The pool staff is a hired out company, NOT Sheraton staff. We watched daily as non Sheraton guests were given towels and lounge chairs. We had to get up be 6 am to get 2 chairs for our family of 4. People were allowed to play boom box speakers at high volumes. By mid afternoon it became a frat party zoo with small children. The adult pool area is not any better, just no children. We asked repeatedly if this was a public pool and were always told it was only to be used by Sheraton/Royal Hawaiian guests. The rooms were remodeled 4 years ago and they are trashed. Our bed sheets had tears, slits. The maids started knocking before 8 am to start housecleaning and the do not disturb signs wouldn't stay on the door. The hotel manager basically laughed in our face when we asked what had happened to our wonderful hotel. When we stated we were sad to not be returning she simply shrugged. The Sheraton seems to have become the old Outrigger when it was party central. The only thing left for this hotel is the location. We understand things change, economic cut backs, but customer service, being courteous and polite, those things are free.
“This was our 7th visit there”
My wife and I started staying at the Sheraton Waikiki in 2005 for our 35th wedding anniversary. After that stay we have been continuing to stay there for our anniversary ever since. We have seen the hotel renovated over the years and it has been really transformed to serve couples as well as families. My only grip is that food prices on the premises are higher than some of the local establishments. The hotel is within walking distance of many fine restaurants and shopping. The parking is in a nearby ramp and the price for parking is included in a resort fee that does have a few extras including Wifi in the rooms. If you want to venture out of the Waikiki area in is fairly easy to get in or out of the area. It is a large hotel and does handle the large number of guests efficiently. The new manager that took over last year has sunset cocktails from the Hotels Leahi Club on the 30th floor on Wednesday's at 5:30pm for frequent visitors. This was our second year to be invited where you meet the various department heads and enjoy beverages and hors d'oeuvres while watching the sunset over the western end of the island. My wife and I really enjoy the hotel and the service we receive. They are on the oceanfront but no beach of their own yet. So staying here has become a tradition as long as our good health continues.
“Excellent place in Waikiki”
Location was great for all Waikiki has to offer. Upgraded to ocean view. Right on the ocean!
“Not Great, but not Bad.”
I chose this hotel cuz it was a last minute booking and Hawaiian Village was unavailable for the dates I requested. I noticed a reviewer rated this hotel better than the Village so I jumped on this reservation. That reviewer was way off. No comparison in the accommodations, Village is MUCH nicer, no question about it. Rooms are way too plain, as were the hallways leading to your rooms. The good news is those were my main complaints about this hotel. On the positive: Not as large as the Village, so you don't walk as much. Much easier to find a lounger by the pool (everyday my wife and I had one in the shade by 1-2 p.m.-just keep eyes open :]) You're smack dab in the middle of shopping, so that was cool. In summary, you want luxury, go Village, in a pinch, Sheraton Waikiki ain't too bad.
“very good in everything”
I love it & would come back here again.
