Great hotel right on the beach.Posted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: The pools, being right on the beach and being in the heart of Waikiki.
Cons: Upon check in a calender of events everyday with instructions on how to participate in those events. Double paned window on street side of hotel.
Its always hard to tell what the hotel actually looks like from photos. The hotel was great. We traveled with our 5 year old grand daughter. The kids pool was awesome, with a big water slide, little water slide, water fall, deep end, shallow end, kiddy pool and 2 spas. It had lots of seating and was sunny with shade cabanas to rent. On top of that it was steps from the ocean where you had a whole other experience that was just as amazing. Everyday their were activities for kids and adults, Hula lessons, flower lei making, treasure hunts just to name a few. You are in the heart of Waikiki so restaurants and shopping were a plenty. So many activities to choose from so little time. We had a hard time leaving the hotel to see other parts of the island. The staff was amazing no matter what we were asking for. We are in Hawaii at least once a year and have stayed many places and this is now one of our favorites. Some times we travel with the grand kid, sometimes we travel with the grand kid and adult kids and sometimes just the 2 of us. This hotel works for all circumstances. The pictures on line don't do the hotel justice. The only thing I would say is dont stay on the street side of the hotel. There is a loading and unloading area and the trucks use a beeping when they back up and you can hear that early in the morning.

We loved it! Just a little too busy and costly, but hey, that's Hawaii.

Ideal Beach HotelPosted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: It was right on the beach, close to shops and transport.
Cons: The room we stayed in could do with a bit of a facelift, overall though - clean, comfortable bed and great view from balcony.
Location: The location is perfectly situated on the beach. You can easily walk to the shops and a nearby aquarium - worth seeing.
Great hotel, particularly if you wish to stay on the beach near all the facilities. Shopping and sight seeing made easy and with transport close by. Our room was comfortable and loved the view of ocean and mountain from our balcony, although we had initially booked the club ocean front room. It was indeed a great view - picture post card! We enjoyed the Club Room and found the staff were very helpful, especially on our last day when we had a little time to pass before the next leg of our trip. The staff at the concierge desk were also very accommodating, when we had a question or two. Overall a user friendly hotel which would suit the needs of most people wanting a hotel with all the amenities to make for a great holiday!

Excellent hotel right on Waikiki BeachPosted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Infinity Pool, Rumfire, Views, Hotel Room, Leahi Lounge and location.
Cons: Early check-in facility/request for those that arrive on early morning flights - subject to availability.
Location: Everything within the Waikiki Beach area is within walking distance. Timing for eating out is critical unless you reserve ahead.

Hawaiian vacationPosted Sep 8, 2014
A good experience overall. The staff was courteous and the room was clean. The only down-side that we experienced was that the kids pool was packed during the day- and we gladly hit the beaches during that time, and the on-site bar, Run-Fire, turned into a night-club on the weekends- which made the lobby extremely noisy and crowded.

Right in the centre of everythingPosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Location is excellent. Facilities are good, room was always clean. 11 (I think) elevators so no waiting around. Not too noisy. Felt safe.
Cons: A lot of light from the hallway came through the badly fitted doorframe at night. Which kind of defeated the purpose of the blackout blinds!
Location: Royal Hawaiian shopping centre & foodcourt, shopping, walk to zoo, beach. Closeby trolley stops to Ala Moana. All tours pick-up at hotel.
The Sheraton Waikiki is right in the centre of everything, and a hub for tours and day trip operators. The Royal Hawaiian shopping centre is just in front, with a handy food court, convenience stores, and plentiful luxury shopping if that's your thing (including a Sephora). :-) All of Waikiki is in walking distance, and there are several nearby trolley stops when you venture further afield. As a solo female traveller the location was a real drawcard - lots of people around all hours and no need to worry about walking back to the hotel late at night. Easy access to the beach although it is to the side of the hotel - right out front is the infinity pool looking over the ocean. Great bars out front too. Seemed to be very family friendly for those with kids, certainly felt safe and secure.

Breath taking viewsPosted Sep 4, 2014
Sheraton Waikiki has the best location on the beach. It is on the beach making it convenient to go into the ocean and enjoy the sun for a couple of hours. The sand is soft on the south side of the hotel but rough on the north side. The adult infinite pool is amazing! And the views are breath taking! We saw turtles from our room everyday late afternoon and a seal swimming near the shore. Shopping and restaurants are steps away. You don't really need a car but if you can get around Diamond Head to the windward side, you can see the lush green mountains and waves crashing into the coast. Best vacation in years!
