Perfect location, our children loved the pool !

Posted Apr 19, 2015
Our second visit to the Sheraton Waikiki and we were not disappointed. Our room was clean, view was great. Our kids loved the pool and water-slide!! Perfectly located within easy walking distance to everything, we had a great holiday and will go back if we can.

It was good, but I expected more.

Posted Apr 19, 2015
I was expecting to be wowed considering I booked an oceanfront room, but even though the view was as beautiful as I expected, the room was rather plain, and though not dirty or shabby by any means, both the room and the hallways looked like they were dated and due for a freshening up. We were only there for three nights and the service staff was very good, especially the valet service, but the city's water main broke and we were w/o any water for an entire day. The hotel was a little slow w/ the notification process which was annoying, but in the end they did arrange to move us to another hotel, an option we decided to forego until the next morning to see if the problem could be fixed. This really was a situation out of their control and even though their initial response was slow, in the end they stepped up and handled it as well as I think they could have and they did waive our resort fees for our stay. Only other comment is that the in room internet that comes "free" with the "resort fee" is really way too slow.

Posted Apr 19, 2015

Great hotel on Waikiki....one little issue.

Posted Apr 18, 2015
Great open-air first floor, great pools, Rim Fire restaurant/bar was excellent. Very close to beach, shopping, great restaurant variety. One issue is that they only have rooms with a single king bed or two double beds. We're a regular family of four so two doubles were not comfortable for a week. Not a real big deal since our room was plenty big for a roll-away. Sheraton provided it for free. Would definitely go back!!

Very bad experience

Posted Apr 18, 2015
A succession of bad experiences ensured that we won't be back in a Sheraton /Starwood property 1. Unpleasant surprise at check in that there is an additional hotel fee of $30 per day in addition to what we had paid already on Expedia. 2. We slightly moved one of the mattress in our room to have it close to a wall so that our kid would not fall at night. Next day we got a letter threatening us of $200 if we were to breach the room security policy again. 3. They are too many restrictions in the usage of the pools. 4. During a day there was no water at all in the whole building. No showers, no flush in the toilets... 5. False alarm went on at 3am in the morning in the building , pretty scary when you're with kids on the 30th floor.. It took them a while to come and tell us it was a false alarm. 6. the staff is so so, the breakfast so so 7. this hotel is basically big high rise condo like a hotel condo anywhere else in the US except for the outdoor pool and the beach. Not much character nor architecture that would make this stay special. It doesn't integrate well with the beauty of the surrounding or the nice architecture of hotels like the royal Hawaiian or Moana surf rider , you actually wonder how they got the authorization to build this right on the beach.

Posted Apr 18, 2015

Great hotel if you have kids, don't mind noise

Posted Apr 17, 2015
Pros: It is a very pretty hotel with beach access and two pools. My room was nice and I had a partial ocean view with a lanai. Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: Ditch the resort fees. Charge for parking instead.
Location: Good central location. Lots of activities available for family and kids. Concierge services were very helpful.
This place is teeming with a combination of families and loud music. It's a just a noisy combination for someone who was saw the pictures of a serene infinity pool and thought that equaled a peaceful float with a gorgeous view of the Pacific. Serene, heck no! The infinity pool comes with a DJ that insists on blaring loud music from about 3pm on. I actually retreated to the family pool for peace and quiet. What you will get is an extra $30 in "resort fees" tacked on to your already expensive hotel tab. . . this covers parking, a free bottle of water every day, and I'm not sure what else. I didn't have a car so it just felt like another gouge. I should have gone with more of a budget hotel and angled for an ocean view room. Most beaches are public access on Waikiki and all you need is a decent, clean room in a hotel with a swimming pool. I'll know better next time.
