Great Location

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The room, while a little small, was freshly redecorated, very clean and modern with a comfortable bed. Also loved the free iced water/pink lemonade.
Cons: A glass balcony would be good on the beach side of the pool so you can be in the pool while looking at the view.
Location: Perfect location to walk to beach and shops. Did the Aloha Hawaii tour to Pearl Harbor, bought our tickets from kiosk across the road from the hotel.
My husband and I had an excellent time in Waikiki watching our son play in the Hawaiian Waterpolo tournament. Anyone interested in Gluten Free dining options check out California Pizza Kitchen and PF Changs who both have separate GF menus and took great care when preparing my meal.

Bang for your buck

Posted Aug 6, 2014
When booking it was the cheapest hotel we found that didn't have bad reviews. Great hotel for the price, right next to the main strip and close to the beach. Comfterble and clean room. The room was a little small and there isn't much for amenities (the restaurant is under renovations) but with every thing so close by it wasn't a problem.

nice, pleasant, but reception staff could b traine

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: location, location, location. very clean. comfy furniture. quiet.
Location: Mai Tai Bar at Royal Hawaiian Hotel across the street. lots of shopping if so inclined. ABC store n Starbucks nearby..... must b nearby bus stops..
it took forever to check in after 10-hour flight, n standing in line w/ two bags of luggage in semi-A/C lobby 07-03-2014. desk sh b sensitized to those conditions awaiting those waiting to check in, n not spend what seems like inordinately long time humoring guest at desk. even that guest's partner came up to sympathize with those of us standing in line. it appeared fr observation that the desk was initiating dialogue with guest, more n more; rather than try to xpedite process. regrets.

Pros: Price, comfort, proximity to Waikiki dining and beaches.
Location: Nice little inexpensive restaurants nearby (breakfast and lunch spots). Within a short walk to very nice beaches.

Aloha, Thank you for choosing the Shoreline Hotel Waikiki as your home away from home. While it is unfortunate that you found our valet parking charge of $28 per day unreasonable, we can assure you that it is on par with the other hotels in the Waikiki area. We are also one of the few hotels that do not charge a "resort fee" that many other properties do charge on top of a valet parking charge. So please keep that in mind if your travels bring you to the Waikiki area again. While your comments regarding the cleanliness of your room are vague, these comments will be shared with our Executive Housekeeper and will be used as a way to improve. Thank you again for your comments. Aloha, Daniel Floren Front Office Manager

Hotel is ok but it is beside a run down building.

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: Staff is friendly and hotel is clean.
Location: Close to shops, restaurants and the beach.
Hotel Staff are nice though and room is clean. As mentioned, the downside is it is beside a run down building so rooms facing this side has a bad view. Feels like it is not in waikiki at all, but overall, it is a good hotel.

Aloha G, Thank you for taking the time to share this review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed the cleanliness of the hotel and found our hosts nice. Each of our hosts enjoy going the extra mile servicing our guests. While outside factors such as buildings next to our property are things that the hotel cannot control we do appreciate your comments. If you travels bring you back to Waikiki consider booking a "Partial Ocean View" room so that a more pleasing view can be seen while in your room. Thank you again for sharing your comments. Great place

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: The board in front of the elevator is great - my wife loved it!!
Location: Centrally located - easily able to walk or drive around. Located on a one way street so the traffic was minimal.
It was a great place, did not worry about the staff and they cleaned where appropriate without disturbing our items. The refreshments in the lobby were great and lobby was clean. They did a great job in assisting with finding parking. The staff was very accommodating and providing information when requested for food and activities. We had a great view from our room, even though the other rooms may not have the same view of the ocean. The views from the pool were awesome. Centrally located so it was easy to walk and drive around the area.

Great hotel in Waikiki

Posted Jun 18, 2014
We really enjoyed ourselves at this conveniently located hotel. It was clean and reasonably priced for Waikiki. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit small but equipped with everything you'll need, including a refrigerator and a Keurig machine (Suggest bringing your own Kcups or buy some at a store... The hotel provides two regular Kcups, one decaf, and one tea. They do not replenish but offer them at the front desk for $2 each). We had to use the parking garage across the street, which had an in/out deal with the hotel if you paid the daily rate ($24). Pretty steep for parking but it's going rate in Waikiki. We had no problems walking around Waikiki from the hotel and there are ABC stores everywhere for water and snacks. This hotel provides beach towels if needed so save room in your suitcase!
