Dining
Hoku's - Hoku's consistently wins acclaim for its contemporary Island cuisine, which melds Hawaiian, Asian, and European flavors prepared with finesse and served with style. Renovated June 2006, the hotel features bright furnishings, Italian bone china, and Christofle silver. Updated menu items include Slow Braised Kahuku Pork Belly, Pancetta Crusted Onaga, and Salt Crusted Rack of Wisconsin Lamb, served tableside. Old favorites such as the Crisp Whole Island Fish still remain. Thanks to a multi-level layout, all diners receive ocean-view seats, but may be distracted from the view by the open kitchen featuring fiery hot woks, a kiawe wood grill, and tandoori and wood-burning ovens. Hoku's serves dinner and Sunday brunch.
Plumeria Beach House - Renowned for its Kahala Burger, this casual beachside café features bountiful buffets and off-the-menu choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with live Hawaiian music at sunset.

“Somewhat dissapointed by service level”
Not worth my time to write this review.
“Already planning another trip”
We had such a good time at the Kahala Resort. My two year old loved the kiddie pool and the dolphins which made our trip that much more enjoyable. I am already looking for a way to get back. Thank you Expedia and Kahala Resort.
“What a wonderful hotel!”
The hotel & property were very nice. I went mid-September which am told is just past the busy season. This is a good time to go if you're looking for an environment that's more quiet & peaceful. I spent my birthday at the hotel & they had a dessert waiting in my room for me with "happy birthday" written on it. The room was well appointed with a king bed, luxury bedding, large bathroom with his & hers sinks & ocean view. There's one pool which is next to the dolphin lagoon. The pool area is nice - offering large plush towles, lemon flavored water & cold wash clothes however, being right next to the lagoon can get a bit loud with the dolphin trainers. The staff was friendly & attentive - they remember & call you by name. The hotel offers complimentary bikes that you can take out on a first come first serve basis & also complimentary shuttle service to Waikiki area. Nightly turn down service is provided. The food at the restaurants on site is tasty, but pricey. The breakfast buffet is worth trying at least once & can probably fill you up until dinner. The pool side service for food & beverage could be improved on - most times I had to get up & walk over to the seaside grill to place my order or ask the pool boy to find a server. Overall, I would rate this hotel a 5 & would definitely stay here again!
“excellent hotel and location”
Hotel is in a great location allowing privacy and escape from Waikiki, with a beautiful beach and great pools that were perfect for our 6 year old son. The service was excellent apart from slightly slow service for lunch at the Plumeria restaurant and poolside lounge, and a nearly 30 minute wait one day for the breakfast buffet. The rooms are spacious. They are a little dated. We had a partial ocean view room which was really more a mountain view and golf course view. Had to pay an additional charge fairly steep charge for a roll away bed for our son.
“Wonderful family stay”
Service is impeccable. Great location. Not a bad seat at the pool or beach. Dolphin lagoon is unique experience. Great with kids
“Serene”
Absolutely beautiful property. It is serene, understated, and calm. The hotel room was spacious, the rollaway bed was extremely comfortable, and the food and drinks at the hotel's restaurants exceeded my expectations. Loved the hotel's proximity to Waikiki (complimentary shuttle from hotel) and Hanauma Bay, too.
“Will go back many times”
For surfing in Oahu, especially Diamond Head, this hotel is surely the 5 star best.
“Very satisfied.”
A little bit far away from Waikiki, but this hotel is really quiet and comfort. The view, the beach is very nice.
“Will definitely be back”
Friendly staff, great rooms with views, just far enough away from all the busiest of Waikiki.
“highly recommended hotel”
overall service is as good as expected. pool and beach side personnel is very helpful and courteous. the restraurants are mostly overpriced but the service is still above expectation.it would be a complete and excellent resort, if the neighboring golf course (WAIALAE COUNTRY CLUB) would allow hotel guests to play at the golf course,
