Nice location. Dolphins on site.Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Hotel was nice, a little outdated, good food, small fridge in the room a plus.
Cons: Update tv, phone, furniture, etc.
Location: Easy access to kahala mall, h1 E, to Hanauma bay, lanikai, north shore by car.
Room close to elevator. Noisy.just valet parking kind of inconvenient. Cover on the sofa was dirty. Room service excellent, concierge and valet parking efficient. We have not been provided with late checkout even we had vip status, also no upgrade for the room for the same reason. There was a hospitality room to get changed/ refreshed/ take a shower if had late flight.

Excellent hotel!Posted Mar 26, 2015
stayed for seven nights in this hotel. it was a excelent experience. You get everything you need inside the hotel from restaurants, shop, activities for children and adults. We did not rent a car the hotel provides transportation to malls and Waikiki center. To visit other places we got a tour service. For fair price

Fifty years later, lobby still understatd elegancePosted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: Loved the dolphin experience and having the rays and turtles on site. Loved sitting at the "Veranda" in the evenings listening to live music.
Cons: Needs a complete overhaul, but not sure the size of the hotel could warrant that. It's not flashy with swim up bars and water slides, it's old-school
Location: Location is out of the way so quiet, if that's what you're looking for. Hotel shuttle to Waikiki & Alo Moana. Little Kahala Mall is a nice ½ hour walk
The Kahala used to be the most elegant and exclusive hotel on Oahu and the lobby is still just as grand as when it was first built. The outstanding chandeliers are still there! The building itself and rooms, however, are starting to show their age. Paint was peeling off walls in the bathroom, a bit of mould on the shower ceiling and the shower door had shifted and caught on the tile wall when opened or closed. The room decor was lovely and tropical, but in soft tones of cream, yellow and pale blue. The bed and bedding were wonderful-perfectly pressed and comfortable. Attentive and friendly housekeeping staff made everything look and feel beautiful.

Relaxing, not a busy beach, amazing place to stayPosted Mar 8, 2015
I booked a trip to Hawaii for my wife's birthday. My wife and I choose to stay at the Kahala because of the separation from Waikiki area. It's about 25-30 min away. The Kahala beach is great! It's so calm and relaxing. The staff at the Kahala is second to none.. They know how to make you feel welcome. The food was also very good. The different restrurants you can eat at the resort make it so you don't have to leave if you don't want to. If you do want to leave to Waikiki area they have the shuttle that will leave throughout the day for free and it's very easy to do. Once in Waikiki there is many restaurants and stores to be checked out. My wife and I spent most of our time at the beach, the pool and the restaurants. Perfect get away and we thank the Kahala staff and resort!

Calm, comfortable and peaceful stay.Posted Mar 5, 2015
The first impression from the Kahala started with an unexpected room upgrade when we checked in. The room we stayed had a wonderful view and was calm, comfortable and peaceful space for my fmaily. My kids loved the private beach. The beach opened for only the hotel guests so it was not crowded like the Waikiki. The walk on the beachside watching the sunrise with a morning coffee was me and my wife's favorite. The shopping shuttle service was wonderful for us to go the Waikiki and the Ala Moana Center.
