“Fabulous stay!”

After reading mixed reviews, I was hoping for a great experience and that is what we got! Those that wrote bad reviews, not sure what they were expecting, because this was a great place to stay. We loved the modern look of the hotel and the pool and bar areas were great. This is located in a great spot and we were able to walk to everything. We were very pleased with the service and really could not have asked for a better experience. There was always a spot at the pool and they offer a great happy hour at the pool bar. We stayed for 5 nights and started every evening with drinks there. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

“Excellent, "Vegas style" hotel for couples”

Very cool hotel; excellent restaurant on 2nd floor (Morimoto's - expensive, but one of the best food "experiences" of my life!). Good gym; 2 pools - sunrise with servers for food and drink; sunset for adults only, just a wading pool with service for drinks; cool, small nightclub on a Friday night; located at the west end of Waikiki, in the marina - so about a 15 to 20 min walk to the main Waikiki sites, but for us that was perfect - close enough to the action, but a little more relaxed than the main Waikiki strip. They provide free "turn down service" everyday, which includes 2 free bottles of water per room, which I thought was a nice touch. The food is expensive, but all food is in Hawaii. No more expensive than the rest of the food we had, and the quality was excellent. (Inside tip - do NOT try to Hilton bar/restaurant on the beachfront, which is next door but one heading east, towards Waikiki - it was awful!). The drinks at Duke's in Waikiki are great, and we had excellent dinners at Roy's and Westin Ohana Surfrider (downstairs, outside in the main courtyard). There is also an Enterprise car rental location literally right opposite the Modern, so if you want to avoid the parking fees, just rent a car for the day there, walk over pick it up and return in the evening (I recommend you do this in the week, NOT Sat or Sun, as you can return the car later - 730pm instead of 5pm - and more staff work in the week, so the wait to get the car is not as bad).

from arrival till we left ,we had a great time and our Hotel was great . The only thing ,If there was tea and coffee in the room ,would be much better. but room service was good.To complete this great Hotel ,Outdoor Spa would've been nice too.

“Pool Deck + Fireworks = Wonderful”

We found this hotel by accident on Expedia. Fabulous surprise and a great deal for a modern hotel that is family friendly as well as perfect for couples. The rooms are fresh, light and modern without feeling too "resorty" or trying too hard to be "upscale". The Modern Honolulu pulls of luxury with a ease that makes you feel as if you belong. Also know that every Friday there are fireworks on the beach, and the Modern Honolulu's pool deck is a great place to watch them.

our room was not what we expected/ordered. they were very understanding and switched us to a beach view room. it saved my anniversary trip. the staff was fantastic. room service put a microwave and fridge in the room for us. the kurig coffee maker jammed up twice and they gave us a new one each time we asked. concerage service was great in arranging a luau for us. we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay.

“Excellent choice”

This hotel is excellent !! Everything looks brand new ! Our room was clean, very comfortable and airy. All employess were very attentive all the time.
