Nice Deluxe Ocean View Room on the 11th floor

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Location, food, bars, rooms, view.... Location, Location, Location....! Right on the beach...!
Cons: The laundry self service is located directly across, maybe 12 feet from a designated smoking area in the alley for beach access. This is not cool..!
Great place to stay....! Sure it is busy because you are in the epicenter of everything...! The hotel staff are great. The Valet parking guys were the best. They get your car quickly and then help you out through the crowded sidewalk and into the street. The maids are very polite, friendly, and efficient at their jobs. Great view from the Deluxe Ocean View from the 11th floor....! Saw the Catamarans coming and going from the beach and a Sea Turtle in the surf every now and again. A nice little market within the hotel for sunscreen, beer, crackers, or the Wall Street Journal. The Hula Grill was convenient. Dukes food was ok, very loud, and the bar was super busy, only went there once for this reason. Had a dinner at Chucks Steak House within the hotel also. Chucks was very good and they have a quieter, low key bar. Probably ate at the Hula Grill the most as it was more our style. The elevators are not that big of a deal, just swipe your card and put your room number in, as easy as that. It is actually cool as it enhances security in my opinion. Lots of shopping in the area and great restaurants within 7-8 blocks of this hotel and beyond. It's all there for you....!

One of the best

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The location, right in the middle of everything!!!
Cons: the only complaint i would have is that they pack up the banana chairs at 4pm, a little too early for my liking
Location: many restaurants such as the Cheesecake Factory, shopping all day all night and you must visit the Waikele Premium Outlets,
Although we arrived too early for check in, they tried hard in getting at least one of our rooms ready. But in the meanwhile we were able to use the hotel facilities, which if you ask me, are awesome. the fact that the beach is at our doorstep and pool and spa are also available makes the stay a comfortable and enjoyable one. with beach activities provided such as surfing, paddle boarding catamaran hire and lessons available the day was endless amounts of fun. food was in abundance and amazing at dukes and being able to order cocktails on my banana chair with just the wave to a waiter was an added advantage.

Aloha . Thank you for choosing the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. It is wonderful to hear that you were able to enjoy the hotel facilities while waiting for your room to be available upon your early arrival. There is no better way to start a Hawaiian vacation than by immediately hitting the beach and sipping a tropical cocktail poolside while basking in the warm sunlight. Mahalo Nui Loa.

Nice hotel close to shops, beach and restaurants

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Cocktails at happy hour at Dukes after a swim. Nearby shopping and beach access.
Cons: Lift access was too busy and full constantly, although it was a busy time of year.
Location: Shop, swim, eat, drink . Be happy and enjoy!!!
Just a short stay before departing for Maui and returning for 1 more night on our way home. Enjoyed every moment! Fun, easy going and lively atmosphere at Dukes downstairs and easy access to beach and shops. Visited nearby Alamoana Centre just a short bus or cab ride to get there. Rooms were clean and quiet and we had a nice view of the ocean. Enjoyed eating at the restuarants downstairs and exploring the nearby shops.

Awesome staff!

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: The hotel was very clean. The staff was fabulous. Many amenities including spa services, snacks/food, recreation and activities.
Cons: Going to the pool. When explained, it almost seemed like a reservation was required to sit by the pool. Not so- there are plenty of lounge chairs!
Location: Everything is accessible from the Waikiki Outrigger. Tour bus connections are a block away; walk to Diamond Head or catch a cab; shopping.
From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff was awesome! We were promptly greeted at the curb and our luggage loaded onto a cart. The front desk staff welcomed us and explained hotel amenities and activities going on that week. Our luggage arrived at our room exactly as we did. The room - including the bathroom and closet area -was spacious. Plenty of storage space for clothing and bags. Our partial ocean view room had a balcony with a table and two chairs, perfect for breakfast and evening cocktails! The view was more than we expected. Throughout our visit the staff was friendly and always ready to serve. We enjoyed good meals at the hotel's three restaurants. The gym was more than sufficient; it included free weights, machines and treadmills and offered a rooftop view of the mountains. The pool was small but the area was well-maintained; chairs and towels were readily available. The downtown location made it easy to catch tour busses and explore the area. We explored hotel reviews while planning this trip. We noticed that people said this was their 10th or15th stay at the Outrigger Waikiki. The fact that so many people returned to this hotel numerous times said a lot- and we could see why. We would definitely recommend this hotel - and have already!- to friends. A great experience!

Nice location! Walking distance to everything.

Pros: Love the dining experience from Duke,Hula grill and Chucks.
Cons: Some employees (1) not to eager to help with questions about our tour details that we booked thru Expedia. Thankfully one lady was very helpful .
Location: Shopping and dine nearby. Of course Waikiki beach is awesome!
Memorable experience. Very safe place to visit. Su Xian very good worker. Keep our room clean everyday. Sky very good server and very friendly. Noticed a lot of people have a hard time on their first try to navigate the security process of the elevator. But okay after awhile since it is for the safety of the guests.

Outrigger on the Beach stay

Posted Jun 24, 2014
My family of 4 stayed at the outrigger for 5 days. It was amazing!!! The staff was incredible!! Perfect for kids. It was paradise. I didn't get ocean view but outside my balcony to my left was ocean view and to the right was the strip.Everything was clean and that's what I was looking for. The hotel was in the middle of the strip right on the beach. I will definitely go back to the same hotel when we return.

On the beach & in middle of town

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Good size rooms, very comfy beds. TV a bit small, but ok. No wine glasses in room, only tumblers.
Cons: Would be better to have a kettle - if you don't drink coffee, hard to make a cup of tea with percolator. Didn't like paper cups for hot drinks either.
Great bar on the beach, Dukes, but get there by 3pm if you want a seat. Day spa is a bit expensive, but do a great job. Not a lot of options for breakfast if you want to eat early outside of the hotel. Big markets are gone, shame as they were good. Make sure to try Jimmy Buffet Bar and the Cheesecake Factory - but only order 1 meal between 2 - HUGE servings.

Hi Wendy from Sydney, Thank you for your feedback. There are a lot of options both on and off site. While the International Marketplace is under development, there are many options for shopping both in Waikiki and throughout the Island.
