Nice Hotel but many additional unexpected fees

Posted Oct 25, 2014
The hotel is very nice and is in an excellent location on North Shore Oahu. The pool was very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. What we were not expecting were all the additional costs and fees that come along with making a reservation at this hotel/resort. Beware, you will be paying an additional $100-200 per day in cost/fees.

Aloha, Thank you for staying with us and providing your feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed our unique location on the North Shore of Oahu! We are sorry to hear that you felt there were hidden fees. We do have a $35 daily resort fee which goes toward free parking, wifi, access to our beautiful fitness room with panoramic ocean views, snorkeling equipment and more. Many resorts charge this amount just for parking, while ours offers many benefits for everyone to enjoy. Mahalo for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon. Warmest aloha, Danna Holck Vice President & General Manager

Beautiful grounds and setting

Posted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: The setting of the beach cottages is outstanding and very private. As noted above, the valet staff and housekeeping were exceptional.
Cons: The concierge staff both at the front desk and those assigned exclusively to the cottages will ill informed and didn't return phone calls.
Location: Lots and lots of food trucks around the area. These were very tasty and far better value for your dollar than eating at the resort.
For the most part, the experience was very positive. Some rude staff and uninformed/confused staff made parts of the 9 day stay less than satisfactory. We stayed in the Beach Cottages ( a must if you are going). They need some TLC but this is easily overlooked when you take in your environment. It's beautiful. The housekeeping staff ( they come twice a day) and the valet staff provided exceptional, friendly service. The concierge and servers in the restaurants could learn a lot from these departments with respect to customer service. There are 4 restaruants ( we only ate in three) on the grounds which have very poor service and the food is less than satisfactory especially given the price at the higher end ones. We ate off the grounds the majority of the time and found the food off the grounds excellent with excellent pricing. The Spa and Spa staff were wonderful. Would highly recommend.

Aloha! Mahalo nui loa for staying with us on Oahu's Fabled North Shore! We are thrilled to hear that you loved your beach cottage and our beautiful location. We are also very happy to hear that you enjoyed venturing out to the local food trucks and enjoyed the true North Shore experience. As you mentioned, our beach cottages are scheduled to have complete enhancements done which is currently underway and scheduled to be completed early 2015. We do hope you will return to Turtle Bay and experience these enhancements firsthand. We appreciate your feedback in regard to your concierge and dining experiences. We are always looking to improve and will be using your feedback to do so. Mahalo for staying with us on Oahu's Fabled North Shore and we look forward to your return. Best Resort on Oahu!

Posted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: The hotel has amazing views of the ocean. Our room was beautifully. The best thing - the protected cove - we saw lots of fish and turtles!
Cons: Can't think of anything. It seems like the hotel was recently renovated. The owners did a great job with the renovation.
Location: The Polynesian Cultural Center is nearby as well as some North Shore beach towns filled with funky shops and restaurants.
The staff at Turtle Bay is amazing. We arrived before check in and we were upgraded and allowed access to our room hours before our official check in time. The resort has been updated and has many wonderful features. Several pools and spas, beautiful grounds, a cove with lots of fish and turtles where you can snorkel and amazing ocean views. Turtle Bay is a very romantic and beautiful resort!

Very impressive resort.

Pros: The ammenities
Cons: None
Location: The North Shore is a very beautiful place. Shrimp Trucks are just a few miles down from there.
They have so much to offer. Went horseback riding, snorkeling, surfing, not to mention the fine dining.

Beautiful views all around

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: The resort has an open plan setting with large windows to take in the wonderful views. The view from our balcony was breath taking!
Location: It's located in North Shore. Nearby is Waimea Falls.
Our family stayed at Turtle Bay Resort and we absolutely loved it! The views are gorgeous and we enjoyed all the pools the resort had to offer. There's even a water slide for kids and adults too. The beach was easy to access. Will definitely stay again!

Honeymoon in Hawaii

Posted Oct 13, 2014
This is the ultimate in luxury hotels. Our room was moderately priced and had a miraculous view of the ocean. The waitstaff were very helpful, and the hotel was very clean. The room was a little bit small, and the restaurants were a little bit expensive, but overall we had a fantastic stay.

Beautiful Place to Stay

Posted Oct 11, 2014
Pros: Everything. It was quieter, the people were great, the grounds were beautiful, rooms were great, but if you didn't do something linked to Turtle bay,
Cons: Have a place or two with a more moderate meal price. Everything at Turtle bay is Top dollar or not at all. Not everyone wants to spend 60 to 100 bucks
Location: Depending on what you want to do. If it is Waikiki and or Honolulu you want see or Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head or all of the rest that Oahu has to offe
We were looking for a place to stay that was more on the quieter side away from the airport and the hoopla of the younger, busy night life. This was the place to go.

Pros: everything
Cons: The prices were a little steep. Esp the breakfast. $26 for a breakfast buffett?? A little steep!
Location: Lot's of surfing, AND...a motorcross track!! Awesome!!
Great Experience. It was my girlfreinds first time on Oahu, and never on north shore. She's been 20 yrs in a row on Maui, but she loved North Shore and Turtle Bay!! She said it made a world of diffrence in just the fact that you arent looking at wall to wall hotels up and down both sides of the beach!! Loved it! We did Golf, and helicopeter ride, and I surfed and we snorkled and scuba. Great Trip!

Pros: The friendliness of all the staff..They were always willing to accommodate our needs.
Cons: It would be nice to have beach chairs for the beach without having to rent them.
Location: We were visiting family so we did not venture out to do much.
We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel was very well maintained. The whole property was kept up very neatly. The pools we're fantastic!!. I really loved the salt water pool. The beach is just the best. Hawaii is all about the beach.. The food there was prepared nicely. We did love eating there. Everyone was so nice in welcoming us. We definitely would go back there.

Great place to stay in Oahu

Posted Oct 8, 2014
We stayed 1 week in Oahu. We decided for TB because the great price and the beautiful nature and quitness surrounding the resort. It is far away of some interesting points of Oahu like Waikiki, Honolulu, Hanauma, but it is close to other interesting points like Waimea, Polynesian Cultural Center, as well as the beach just besides the hotel, Kailua, which is almost a private beach of the hotel (in terms of being inside the complex, but beach is open to all public). Great rates, ocean view assured in all rooms, impressive nature views that are not going to be found in south shore of the island. Minor details: some condensation and water droping close the AC outlet, matress little too soft. Bigger detail: the parking lot gets crowded and need to park somtimes far away of the hotel entrance, but this is something common or even worst in most Oahu hotels.
