Reasonably priced and Perfect location

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Overall the hotel was quite nice for the price we paid. There was a conceit get to help with any inquiries about tours. There was a your lobby for the busses or shuttles to pick you up. The hotel is right across the street from the beach and everything is near by.

Great hotel, friendly staff, excellent gym & pools

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Enjoyed staying at the Marriott, restaurants were very good, the gym, pools, and jacuzzi were great. It's across the street from the beach and has dining outside at street level and on the third floor. Self parking was very tight, good luck if you rented an SUV. The hotel staff were courteous, friendly and helpful.

Loved the beach across the street

Posted Aug 15, 2014
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The beach across the street has a break wall so the ocean wasn't intimidating to those of us that don't swim. It's away from luxury row so it's quieter and reminds me of the Hawaii I Visit 29 years ago...it's a shame about international market place. Meals are very pricy and was surprised 2 appetizers and 4 drinks came to over $100.00. But if you don't go local, it seems all places were just as high. Beds were comfortable and we upgrade to a fabulous room. Overall happy but thought amenities like parking and wifi should be included.

An exotic Marriott experience

My husband and I came for our honeymoon and we had a great time! The hotel is in a perfect location across the street from the Waikiki beach and along the shopping district where you can walk outside to hundreds of restaurants and shops. It is also across the street from St. Augustine's parish and the Father Damien Molikai musuem (about the leper colony on Molikai). Also most of the tour buses will you pick you up right from this hotel. The hotel itself is very nice; the beds were very comfortable and clean, and all of the rooms have balconies that make the rooms very bright and airy. We had a beautiful view of the ocean to the right and green Diamond Head to the left. As far as amenities and the rest of the hotel, the two pools are so pretty and tropical; you feel almost as though you are at a resort. Also the cleaning and pool staff were so kind, happy, and welcoming! They really made our stay! I definitely recommend this hotel - it's one of the nicer hotels on Waikiki, the rooms are pretty and clean, and the pool and views are beautiful. The only con I would say is that there is a 30$/night fee that is charged, which really adds up. It goes towards WiFi, newspaper, free kiosk DVD rentals and 1 drink per day at the bar, but we would have definitely preferred to have had our 30$ instead. Also the front desk can be very difficult to reach. Other than that, I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I can ever make it back to Oahu!

Pros: Staff was very friendly & helpful. Location was ideal. Facilities were good.
Cons: The restaurants & room service in this hotel were horribly overpriced. Bathroom was VERY small & inconvenient. Toilet was in the tiny shower area
Location: Excellent location-walking distance to the beach, shops & restaurants
Staff was very, very helpful. Special kudos to the concierge & housekeeping staff for exceeding my expectations. I was disappointed that I had twice requested via a phone conversation for a specific tower & for a room with 2 double beds. I was given a room with a king bed in the incorrect tower. They rectified the bed situation but did not change my location when I arrived. Also there was a steep $50/night fee for a fold away bed. Extra resort fees not listed on the Expedia site were imposed on arrival (for use of the gym & to receive "free" dvd rentals & "complimentary" mai-tais each day. Not free or complimentary if I'm paying a resort fee. The gym was used by my party but not the other items covered int he resor fee.

Staying in paradise:waikiki

Pros: It is a Very clean hotel well located
Cons: The front desk has to be rising professional people listening to the clients, not imposing with rude manners their point of view. Clients always right
Location: Beach, zoo and stores(inside and surrounding) the hotel are of great utilities when a family is concerned.
People at the desk first day:charming. My family was upgraded in family room. Giant space like home. So comfy. Ask for Dwayne, he knows everything. Noticed that 30$ were cut from my card everyday: it was a surprised mandatory coming from nowhere. Expedia never mentioned it ! At the desk a rude lady explained it to me without listening to me. An other one, a managing front desk lady came and all was clear. Marriott has a policy in hawaii using a mandatory during all your stay. The food at the morning buffet pleasant with outstanding people serving you. The bed are so nice that you hesitate leaving it before going to the beach. I recommend to everyone to stay in this Marriott Waikiki. Even during a hurricane !
