Great location for GougingPosted May 23, 2015
Pros: Rooms were standard, which is fine.
Cons: Disclose fees and construction so guests don't feel like they are being used.
This hotel has a great location for Waikiki. However, they charge $32 to self-park (and the parking lot was full) and $39 for valet parking. Then, there is a $30 a day "resort fee" which entitles guests to coffee, DVD rentals and unbelievably loud and relentless heavy machinery noises. The property is under construction, which, along with these charges, was not disclosed prior to booking.

Marriott WakikiPosted May 23, 2015
Pros: Excellent restaurants
The restaurants were awesome! The only problems were no porters to help with luggage - I should clarify - there were porters but at no time did they ask if we need help. Not all the elevators worked and that caused over crowding. The room was very comfortable and we had a terrific view. I would stay there again but I hope they get the elevators fixed.

Nice hotel in the center of WaikikiPosted May 23, 2015
Pros: size of room and location to amendities.
Cons: garage parking was limited to first come first serve basis.
Location: a lot of shops and places to eat.
Construction on the lobby floor of the hotel but was not very distracting on the 15th floor. overall experience of hotel staff (Taylor- front desk) and the hotel was excellent.

Our cleaning lady stole one of our souvenirs. I was not happy . The hidden fees also did not make me happy. Staff could have been more helpful, Everything was super expensive and not high quality.

Close to the beach and restaurantsPosted May 22, 2015
Pros: The room was spacious for a couple and well located. We had had partial ocean views and we had a good view from the beach up towards Diamond Head.
Cons: Once the new foyer is done then access will be improved.
Location: We took a flight with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters which was OK and hired standup paddle boards which was fun.
The Hotel is close to Waikiki Beach. Right out front is a swimming area which is protected by a sea wall and you have to walk up about 500 meters to get to beach access to swim in the waves but you can surf or boggy board straight out if you are experienced as you will be surfing over the reef and have the break water to negotiate. The hotel foyer is being renovated which didn't cause any issues. We stayed in a partial ocean view room in the Kealohilani Tower (the one closer to the beach) on the side that faces the Waikiki Aston. The noise from the Aston starts at 7am and ends at 11pm so be warned if you want to have you balcony door open. We found out from a taxi driver that the Aston is mainly for package holidays and the deck around the pool is full and has very loud music. If you shut your balcony door then most of the noise is blocked but its was nice to have it open when we were in the room as the temperature was so nice (28C). We were aware of the resort fee but we received complementary vouchers for the coffee shop in the complex and internet access. Eating is a bit of a lottery. The Cheese Cake factory is reasonably priced and has large serves. You cant book and it can take up to an hour to get a table in peak times. Go to China Town for "hole in the wall" eats like Livestock Tavern (highly recommended), Lucky Belly and the Pig and the Lady. For breakfast try Heavenly (organic and local produce only) or Island Vintage.

Great hotel for a vacationPosted May 22, 2015
I really loved the location. It was within walking distance to the beach, lots of places to eat, lots of shopping and some attractions. The only criticism I have is that during my stay, they were doing construction on the 2nd floor (luckily I was on the 9th floor and didn't hear it) but when I would go to the pool (3rd floor) you could hear the constant noise. However, on the days that the noise was unbearable it would give me the incentive to go out to the beach or go sightseeing. I wasn't in my hotel for the majority of my vacation anyways, so the noise was not a huge issue.

This hotel surpassed our expectations. Fantastic.Posted May 21, 2015
Cons: Price of restaurants, ambiance in the bars.
Fantastic stay, the room was luxurious with a "partial sea view", this means you only get a 180 degree view of the sea, it was nothing but partial. Every morning and evening myself and my husband looked out onto the sunrise and sunset, it was beautiful. The staff has such a "can do" attitude we were amazed, not only were they fast they were also gracious and kind. Our fave part of the room was the Egyptian cotton sheets and the lush beds. Only downside was the bar was a little depressing at night and the restaurants were very pricy, but it is a hotel, we were expecting this. Great location if you want to do Hawaii without a car, we would go back.

Pros: The rooms were very comfortable and clean; the beds especially comfortable. The hotel had all the amenities and had a very pleasant, comfortable feel
Cons: Once the remodel is completed, all improvemets will be too!
Location: The location is fabulous, the beach is just across the street. We surfed, paddle-boarded, swam, ate, and shopped all within minutes from our room.
All in all, a pleasant place to stay. The remodeling made it a bit loud at times (read VERY loud), but the hotel staff is one of the best I've expeienced. Friendly, helpful, pleasant. The conceirge didn't do as fabulous job as I hoped in booking our adventures. I felt she booked us the most expensive adventures---that were cheaper elsewhere--with the least "adventure" attached. The luau booked was costly and not at all as good as the last one we attended; the sunset cruise was over rated and over priced.
