“Excellent bargain, location and staff - FABULOUS A++”

I would totally stay here again! Centrally located between Honolulu and Diamondhead in Waikiki, I was 5 minutes walk to the beach and right in the middle of shopping, food,etc. Staff was wonderful, room was awesome (but I was on the top floor - 16th, corner room with a huge balcony and a view from Diamondhead to beach to Honolulu...unbelievable view!) Room was comfy (for the time I was in it! Slept like a rock!) and really quiet even tho I was right next to the Continental Breakfast Lanaii (the breakfast was sparse - Gogurt, fresh Pineapple, coffee and toast and/or mini bagels was all they offered - but she was nice and all was good). Only drawback was that the TV remote wouldn't change channels so I had to get my lazy butt up to switch. Staff said they were still remodelling - but lobby was cool, internet cafe nice and great ABC store right in the Hotel!! (pool looked nice, but I never went in!) I will always stay here - the price is Fabulous! I stayed in another hotel at the same price last year that was a total dump - But not the Waikiki Gateway! I will always stay here!!!

“Great room for a great price!”

My husband and I were very pleased with the quality of the room we got for the price we paid. The hotel is in a good location. It's not right in the middle of the action, but within a five minute walk of it, which made it convenient and quiet. The only thing we could possibly complain about was the "continental breakfast". It consisted of toast, mini-bagels, and canned fruit. It wasn't great, but it worked for a morning snack. I would definetly return to this hotel and recommend it to others.

“Really good hotel for the money”

Really a good hotel for the money. Great value for the $$$. Clean room and it was well cleaned every day we were there. Found that the front door was on all the main bus routes and that we were just 2 blocks from the car rental office that we used. Staff was always helpful and were always ready to help us with direction to anywhere on oahu. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Also had a nice "Internet Room" which we used a lot.

“Unexpected great value!”

I chose this hotel because it was the second least expensive of the choices for the week I was taking my daughter to Hawaii. I thought that we probably would spend most of our time at the beach, so I'd rather have the extra spending money for activities while we were there. From reading other reviews, I expected it to be so-so and probably rated around a 3. However, when we got there -- the service was more like a 5! From the moment we arrived, until the time we checked out, I was constantly being surprised at the great value for the reasonable price. Most of the employees went out of their way to be friendly and helpful - providing accurate bus service information, lending us towels to use at the beach, watching our luggage since we checked out hours before our flight, and even letting us use the microwave in the employee break room to reheat our lunch. Five star service! This was my first trip to Hawaii, so I'm not sure how it compares with other hotels in the area. It's not the Hilton, but it is a great deal and pretty much within walking distance of everything. My only "complaint" if you will, was the breakfast - I have to agree with a previous traveler who wondered why they serve canned pineapple ... Overall, I was very satisfied with this hotel and I would definitely stay here again!

“wonderful waikiki”

Recently remodeled. Read reviews before we went and was a little nervous, but overall very happy with the hotel. It was the best bargain. Don't expect much at the continental breakfast, just yogurt, toast, bagels, nothing fancy. Rooms were pleasant and staff helpful. No complaints really.

“Great Stay”

I would say that this hotel isn't that bad to stay in, unless you are high maintenance. The hotel was a bit difficult to find at first. I liked how an ABC store was next to the lobby. I would book reservations here if I were to visit Oahu again.

I really recommend this hotel one because people were very nice and helpful also it is clean and very close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Also this hotel has a expedia agent who works from 8:00am to 5:00pm and were very helpful on helping me with my activities of my trip.

“Good budget hotel”

We got upgraded to the penthouse for 20$ a night and it does worth it. The view and the size of the room were much better than the regular ones. Continental breakfast is included, parking is 15$ unlimited entries. The hotel is located at the end of the shopping strip so it's quiet for resting.
