Family Vacation

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Cons: Depending on the room...updated renovations would be nice.
Had a good vacation with family ( two children 9 and 6 yrs). Booked trip through expedia with car rental as well. Lucky to get a good price during July 4th weekend. Check in smooth and well informed that the Waikiki Resort check in is on the 2nd floor. Representatives very pleasant and well informative with guest package. Parking and valet available with a daily fee no hidden costs. Suite with a kitchen well equipped with necessities ( ie dish soap, cutlery, cooking ware , dishes etc). Coin laundry on each floor. Room provided with detergent - coin machine for extra available. Room cleaned every four days unless requested. No problem with bed change when son had an accident. Hotel was under construction while we stayed but it didn't bother us. Lanai was closed most of the time due to small child so the city noise wasn't a bother. We were out and about most of the time. Alot of places of interest close by. The Lagoon and beach just behind the hotel well accessible. The Ala Moana Beach park is also close by for a quieter and laid back beach experience with families. As well as the Al Moana mall for commercial shopping. The food court there was very good with alot of variety. Everything was pretty much close at hand. Would stay again with my family.

Good value for money hotel.

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Just back from a week at the Waikiki Marina Resort and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for value for money. Not the most modern hotel but good facilities and staff are very helpful. The kitchen is a real bonus if you don't want to eat out all the time. Good position, close to Ala Moana shops and the bus terminal. Ask for a room on the water side though. The road side can be quite noisy.

Wonderful place to stay.

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: I like that you have someone there to take your luggage to the room because after the long flight it really helps. My flight was about 14 or 16 hrs.
Cons: I cant think of anything bad to say because my stay was great would love to stay here in the future.
Location: I loved the location because you did not have to go very far to get something to eat. The Mall was about 5min away.
This was a wonderful place for me and my daughter because it had a full size refrigerator and stove. Also a place to sit other than sitting on the bed to eat and watch tv. The room was large enough for the both of us. It was near everything loved the beach. The staff was nice and friendly I would stay here again if I get the chance to come back to Hawaii. I would like to take this time and thank you for my stay at this hotel. Thank you.

Don't get a mountain view room

Posted Jun 19, 2014
The Ilikai Hotel is reasonably priced, the room is well equipped including a full kitchen. Our floor has also had reasonably priced laundromat facilities. Most Tour & Trolley Buses stop at your doorstep. A further saving is that we did not have to pay Resort Fees. Unfortunately we chose a Mountain View Room. Room with Mountain Views front onto the Ala Moana Boulevarde. This is an extremely busy and noisy road so the only way to get any peace and quiet is to shut the sliding verandah door. Sleep was then disrupted by the noisy air conditioning and the noisy fridge. I will recommend this to our friends who are looking for affordable accommodation in Hawaii BUT only if they book a Marina View Room.
