Great Stay

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Great Location. Friendly Staff. Large rooms.
Cons: Air Conditioning
Location: Ala Moana Beach Park and the Ala Moana Shopping Center are a 5 minute walk. Waikiki is easily accessible by taking a nice stroll on the beach.
Hotel was terrific. Friendly staff and great location. Room was nice and big. Bonus to have the sleeper sofa. Only drawback was the air conditioner. Room was always a little on the warm side. Would have liked the air conditioner to get the room a little cooler, especially for sleeping.

Very Pleasant Stay

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Large room, clean, free WIFI, location
Cons: If cleaning can be more frequent
Location: Going to nearby beaches, mall, starting point for going to other places
This is a huge three wings facility managed by different companies. The facility is also part of timeshare resort, so you do get solicited for that sales pitch, but you don’t have to go to it. The Junior Suite is great, large room with a sofa bed, that is perfect for a family without feeling crowded. The kitchen is nice with a lot of dishes and cups for a week long stay. Although the cleaning is only done once every 4 days, they provided extra towels and sheets and you can always ask for additional shampoo if needed. The free WIFI is definitely a great thing. The lobby and the lounge/bar back along the marina is pleasant to spend time. Location is great, you can walk to the mall, and the famous Hilton Village, which is the stop for a lot of pick ups or sailing pier, is right next door. We rented a car and parked at the next door parking lot for $20 per day, cheaper than the valet parking at the hotel. We didn’t know parking would be so expensive in Honolulu. Overall we enjoyed Honolulu and the hotel very much.

Overall was good

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Price, close to beach, kitchenette suite
Cons: Needs updated. Looks like from the 70,s, very noisy on street side
Location: Beach, shops and restaurants near by
All the people at the hotel were very friendly. Don't get stuck listening to time share people, they aren't so nice when you say no. Handy to have small kitchen and the rooms were good size. Very noisy on the city side. Overall was good.

Perfect Family Stay, Amazing Staff

Posted Mar 20, 2014
Pros: The overall best part about this hotel was the staff. They were amazing. Second best would be the location.
Cons: The Ilikai Hotel (where the Waikiki Resort is housed) has ABOMINABLE customer service...especially if they know you're with the Waikiki Resort.
Location: Again, the location is amazing for family vacations. You're right by the beach and the Hilton Lagoon where you can rent paddleboards.
I traveled with my 62 y/o disabled father & my 2 toddlers. The Waikiki Marina Resort was PERFECT for our stay. The staff was more than pleasant, they were always helpful and very nice, even standing up every time we entered the Front Desk suite, and even the Housekeeping staff would say hello to us in the halls if we walked by and ask us if we needed anything. The room was comfortable, the TV outdated but given that we were in Hawaii, we didn't really use the TV much anyway. The hotel itself was perfectly situated at the West end of the busy Waikiki area and great for families (not too hectic with party-goers or drinkers) and right next to the Hilton's Lagoon and shopping village. If we're lucky enough to go to Honolulu again, we will definitely stay at the Waikiki Marina for sure.

Good location

This is an old hotel but is well located. Nice beach and the lagoon was great for the kids. The mall and all the amenities are at a walk distance. Nice to have kitchen and be able to prepare breakfast every day. The food at the Ilikai restaurant was good and affordable.

The Ilikai where we are housed is proudly celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year. We love being so close to the beach and swimmable lagoon as well as ample shopping. Glad you enjoyed our fully equipped kitchens and our casual and affordable bar & grill. Aloha, Barrett Winning Resort Manager

Very nice property in good location

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Room was nicely furnished and roomy. Comfortable and clean.
Cons: Directions for checking in, very confusing.
Room very nicely furnished, roomy and comfortable. Walking distance to Ala Moana beach park and shopping center, good area. Only problem is finding the office, across the street and in a different building. And no wifi access.

First time to Hawaii

Posted Feb 9, 2014
Pros: The location to the beaches and restaurants
Cons: More information sent out a head of time with what is close to the hotel
Location: The beaches, restaurants, shopping, are all within walking distants. We did a lot of walking, beach and shopping included. Love having the ABC stores
The ride to the hotel is very short from the airport. The location in right on a very busy road, the noise was very noticible at night. Everyone we spoke with were very friendly and could help with our questions. Great location if you do not have a car. The buses run right in front of the hote. Shopping is close by. The ABC stores are great to have ....everything from souvenirs to beer. Great information from the staff when we checked in.
