“Unbelievable friendliness of staff”
Thoroughly impressed with the staff, location and facilities. Outstanding.
“Prime Spot for Day or Night Life!”
I can't wait to go back! Right in the heart of Waikiki :)
“NEVER AGAIN!!!”
We are homeowners here on Oahu, but we typically will get a hotel room in Waikiki if we're going to have a late dinner, generally about twice a month. We love going around to all the different 3, 4, 5 star hotels in Waikiki, depending on what suits our needs at the time. We chose the Waikiki Parc because NOBU Waikiki is our absolute favorite restaurant on the island, it was my birthday, and as a triathlete I need to swim in a lap pool. I didn't know that they actually had a pool until I did a SEARCH for pools in Expedia. So, the Parc seemed like a great choice this time. Wow, were we WRONG! The Waikiki Parc pool does not open until 8AM! When I asked at the front desk if I could swim a little earlier because it's super-hot in Hawaii if you wait until 8am, I was flatly told no. When I asked the Manager why they couldn't accomodate a Kama'aina guest for such a simple request (note: they do NOT have a LIFEGUARD on duty at ANY time), the MGR said that if they "did it for one guest, they would have to do it for others"!! What?! Um, how is it an inconvenience for other guests OR the Halekulani Corporation which owns it, to adjust the hours to take care of a customer when there's NO LIFEGUARD there either way! The reason I'm writing this review is to warn travelers that are used to a certain level of service from a 4star hotel, that a better option is "The Modern" which has a pool that is open 24/7. Not to mention, attentive, impeccable Halekulani-type service.
“will not be using this hotel again”
When my wife and i stayed for a week in a "mountain view room" the view was obstructed half the time by cables involved in some sort of construction happening at the hotel which we were not notified of until we showed up to check in. The breakfast was more expensive then a real buffet a block away and it was worse then any complimentary breakfast i have experienced and i don't travel much. This hotel was the most unenjoyable part of my honeymoon.
“APEC Stay”
We had booked our trip 6 months in advance (WAY far) and didn't realize it was during the APEC gathering. To our dismay, we did not sleep for the first 5 nights we were there. We paid for an ocean room (which we received), but were kept awake all night from deliveries to the neighboring Sheraton Waikiki (where a lot of APEC meetings were scheduled). 2am, 3am, 4am.... After the deliveries were completed, the remaining nights were restful. Wish we would have had a little "heads-up" beforehand.
“Very nice”
This hotel is right for the price. It is centrally located. It isn't right on the beach, but is very close. I have stayed in hotels several times on Waikiki with ocean views so this time I was okay with a mountain/ city view since I was only staying for a couple nights. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. The sole reason I chose this hotel was the free parking. What a plus...most others charge per day for this. The noise level of the city can be heard but that is not different from any other hotel I have stayed at in Waikiki. The staff was helpful in making sure we were comfortable. I would stay here again.
“Awesome stay”
Perfect from the greeting dropping off our car, to leaving.....
“Be aware of the hotel policy on bed type”
This was our wedding trip so we reserved our room along with our family's rooms 5 months ahead and requested an Ocean Prime-King bedroom for us by directly calling them right after we made our reservation through Expedia. The hotel reservation Dept. confirmed us that they had actually noted our request for a King bedroom via direct email. When we got there at around 5 pm for check-in, the receptionist said no King bedroom of ocean side is available any more for our entire stay. We talked to the hotel manager, he insisted that nevertheless what the reservation dept. said, the hotel does NOT guarantee on the bed type. I showed him the email that the reservation dept sent us, still the manager guy doesn't even try to yield or find solution, instead he kept trying to convince us that we have to take what is available at the moment otherwise we should go elsewhere, which is not an option for us because all of our family were staying there. The hotel's policy is not acceptable. They basically gave our reserved room to somebody else, who happened to be able to check-in earlier the day. After persistently complained to them for about 30 minutes, the manager finally started looking for alternative that we could move to an Ocean prime with a king bed, which we actually booked, from the 2nd night (we stayed in this hotel only 4 nights).
“Great location! .”
Great location! Extremely safe area and very convenient location. Service was very good and the rooms are worth the price. Ocean view rooms have an amazing view.
“Good hotel”
Very friendly staff, accomodating, convenient. Room decor is a little spartan. Overall a good hotel that I would stay in again.
