Reasonable rates. Close to Waikiki Beach.

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Hotel was basic, but quiet and very clean. Pool was spectacular; quite a nice surprise. Two blocks from Waikiki Beach.... Just far enough from frenetic activity to relax. I would stay here again.

Suitable for Extended Stay

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Pros: Efficient and helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Close to a major grocery store and a nice walk path.
Cons: The room cleaning be done during the morning or early afternoon hours (as usually expected) so I don't need to leave again for them to do their thing.
Location: Restaurants and shopping galore. The Beach is a five-minute walk. Jogging along Ala Wai canal and watch people canoeing, kayakking.
I stayed for a week. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Waikiki Beach, thus is not considered the very best location for the beach goers. But such fact is reflected on the room rates. What it has in its favor is Food Pantry (open 6 AM to 1 AM) is in the the next block. Also since is right on Ala Wai, you can enjoy walk along the canal half way into town (to Ala Moana Shopping Center, etc). The staff was efficient and helpful. One negative maybe the house cleaning. Some days when I came back to my room in the afternoon, I found the room not yet cleaned. I was told they operate on a priority to clean all the rooms that checked out that day first before they get to yours. So if you, as I did, find this inconvenient, be sure to instruct them otherwise. Another is the walls between the rooms are rather thin, so at night.. Aloha!

Convenient and comfortable

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Location: Situated on the canal, easy walk to the beach in other direction.
Reasonably priced hotel, we arrived early and were able to use their hospitality room to change into our swimmers and left our luggage there, we were told it would be locked away. No problems when we got back that night. Room was comfortable. There was a lot of noise during the night, not sure if there is a club or something nearby. Couldn't find the switch for some of the lights so had to pull the card out which cut most of the power to the room. Got discount vouchers for breakfast in the attached restaurant but unfortunately we couldn't use them because we had an early flight. In a good location, easy walk to esplanade and beach.

Old hotel could do with renovating.

Posted Sep 18, 2014
Pros: Generally very good at the price.
Cons: The hotel could do with renovating or refreshing, showed its age.
Location: Just a short walk down the road to the main shopping area and beaches. Unfortunately the International Market close by is closed for renovations.
Was clean, has good WiFi, good pool, all you can eat breakfast for US$11.50. Meals available all day also. Hotel was short walk to beaches, shops and far enough away to loose sum of the noise. Staff were very helpful. The only issue was that we booked a double room and were put into a twin. There was coffee making facilities and a refrigerator.

Great pool, good food and very friendly.

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: I liked the fact that this hotel was clean, had friendly staff and close to everything we needed. A bit far from the beach if that is what you want.
Cons: A bigger TV in the rooms would be nice.
Location: Close to shopping for food and souvenirs. lots of restaurants close by. and the hotel has a concierge to help out with your excursion adventures.
We needed a place to stay for a few days while we were waiting for our condo. The room was clean and comfortable (the TV was a bit small). We enjoyed the pool allot. there was even a solar powered foot spa - boasting the only one in the world. It was nice to sit at and chat with other people trying it just to say they were there. If you stay here please eat downstairs at the Sand Bar & Grill. The food there is very good. The breakfast is OK if you are very hungry otherwise I would recommend eating elsewhere for breakfast. the staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel made us feel welcome. This hotel caters to a large number of Japanese visitors and are able to speak both English and Japanese.

Decor out of date with popcorn ceiling but clean.

Price is reasonable. Love that hygiene thing attached to the commode. If you don't want to use the $25 hotel parking, use the street metered parking. Usually opens up at 7 am on the next street (25cents per 10 minutes). For overnight parking of $12.00 from 5p to 7a on that self parking adjacent to the hotel next to food pantry. Works well if you are not going to be there on the area all day and busy sightseeing.

10th Trip to Oahu

Posted Aug 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
Excellent location! Bus stop at the corner, two blocks from King's Village. We were able to use the "Hospitality Room" as we had a night flight no time restriction!! The room had two sofas, internet, massage chairs, books, showers, all the basics to check out and relax for a few hrs until our flight (get the key at check out). Nice breeze as it is facing the ALA WAI CANAL. Only negative was the noise at night but is normal in Waikiki we got the 4th floor, nothing that you can't control by closing the balcony doors and using the AC. Hotel staff was polite. Rooms were very clean! The surfboard storage room was big. I will stay here again .
