Great location, close to everything

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, WIFI available in room, daily housekeeping, clean facilities; pool, café, hospitality area.
Cons: Maybe have microwave and eating utensils in all rooms
The hotel is in an ideal location, within walking distance of everything; the beach, shops, zoo, restaurants, aquarium and Diamond Head. My room was conveniently placed with a balcony overlooking the canal.

Posted Apr 18, 2015

Hidden Gem

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: The staff
Cons: Sometimes we didn't have hot water when showering. It was the first time this has happened. Very weird.
Location: The location is perfect. You're close to the beach, market, shops, etc. we like it because it's easy getting in and out of Waikiki.
We always stay at the Sand Villas every year when we visit our family. This place is a hidden gem. The staff is amazing! Everyone is so accommodating! The hotel, doesn't look like much on the outside but once you're in your room, you are in Paradise! We tell all of our family and friends about this place because it truly has the Aloha Spirit!

Waikiki

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Pool area. Friendly attitude and service from staff. Walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants. Spa services available on site.
Cons: Décor, rooms, and common areas need updating. Food at hotel restaurant and buffet is not very good.
Location: Walk about 2 blocks to Waikiki beach, shops and restaurants. Easy access to freeway for exploring the rest of the island.
Hotel is a bit older and in need of some work. For example, paint on the 4th floor hallways is dirty and chipping. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. Housekeeping does a decent job. Beds are average - not the most comfortable. You frequently have to call the front desk for pool towels. Pool area is nice. Foot bath was never very warm while we were there. Staff is very pleasant. Valet attendants are very nice and quick to retrieve cars, but you will pay $20+ per day for parking. There is no self parking. Walking distance to main strip of Waikiki, restaurants and beach. Family did not like the food offered in hotel restaurant. Spa services at the hotel were good and accommodating. Hotel sits on the corner of a very busy street and can be quite loud during the day and night.

Vacation

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Good location. It was away from the strip where you can still sleep and don't have to worry about noise.
Cons: Concierge office can be open longer. The person who worked at the desk was only there until 2 PM.
Location: Near the strip and the beach.
The hotel was at a good location. Not on the strip of Waikiki where it could be noisy throughout the night but away from the strip and still close enough to walk to the beach and strip. They had a good restaurant that was convenient and happy hour was great. The staff was friendly as well.

Posted Mar 29, 2015

Too noisy for me

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Good view of the Ala Wai.
Cons: Didn't like the steep, narrow driveway. Bring your own bar of soap if you don't like shower gel.
Location: Pleasant to walk along the Ala Wai in the morning.
We stayed here for over a week. It was very noisy after midnight. We were awakened repeatedly.

Decent hotel along the Ala Wai Canal

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Not on a main thoroughfare. Traffic can be very congested in Waikiki at all hours with lots of cars and pedestrians.
Cons: The hotel has 3 washing machines for the guests to use. Two of the three were out of order. Get quarters from the front desk.
Location: You can walk for dining and shopping, including a nearby grocery store.
The place was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. My only real issue was the noise. The room did not have carpeting which was fine, but probably adds to the sounds from the room up above. We never tried the breakfast buffet. It's unfortunate to have to pay a daily parking fee, but that seems the norm for Waikiki.
