“More like a hostel”

This hotel was very dingy. It seemed more like a hostel than a hotel. There was no phone in the room and the beds were twins, not to mention very uncomfortable. Everything was old and worn. I was embarrassed to be staying there.

“Room Not Clean”

I'll start with the positive: The desk staff was very accomodating and courteous. We were never told we could get WIFI in our room (we discovered this on our own the last day of our trip--there were some mystery cables in the room that we found our could be connected to our laptop for WIFI--when we'd previously inquired we were told there was no WIFI in the room). The kitchen and bathroom floors had mystery hairs on them when we arrived and had clearly not been cleaned--I had to ask specifically to have the floors cleaned any time we wanted them clean. Soap and shampoo were not replenished--we had to ask. The hall carpeting was old and stained--looked filthy. Our balconey's green floor covering was torn and frayed. In general, the hotel and room was not very clean.

“Family friendly, affordable, and clean.”

The staff was wonderful and eager to please. The room we were in needs to be painted and have a new air conditioner. It was wonderful to have laundry on site and have a kitchen to work with. This is an older property but very clean getting ready to have some renovation done. I would stay here again. The pool is a nice size and very private compared to some of the larger hotels. This property is very close to the bus routes and to Fed EX as well as the International Market. It was nice to be centrally located and able to ship packages home with ease. We had a very nice stay and look forward to visiting again. If you want to spend your money on fun and have a nice place to stay this is it. We saved a ton of money. This is not the Ritz but clean and friendly!

“GREAT QUIET HOTEL IN WAIKIKI”

I looved this hotel!! I booked it online, not knowing what to expect and it met all my expectations. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff! the other guests were not noisy. WAY better than a hostel! Would go back any time!

“I felt very comfortable staying here! Staff are very pleasant and made you feel welcome.”

I came to Hawaii to take my son to college. This motel was just right across the street to my son's student housing complex. It is a perfect location for everything and at a reasonable price. I will stay here again.

“Good Price but will not return”

The hotel was rated 2 1/2 stars but i wouldnt give it even that. The carpets were dirty and the hotel itself was very outdated. Our room had a dirty smell. The first room we booked was pool side with queen bed. When we got to our room it had two twins. The next morning the person at the front desk was nice and gave us a different room. That was the only time anyone was nice at the front desk. There were two other men employees that were not friendly at all. Traffic and noise in the area was loud. The parking was 18.00 a night with very limited parking and the parking spots are very small and tight. The pictures online looked to be a nice small hotel but I would not stay at this hotel again. Overall it was dirty in and out and they werent friendly. I honestly think Motel 6 would of been better. (Sorry White Sands).

“Needs updating”

We used to stay at this hotel years ago and we were really excited to go back each time but we vacationed other locations. We decided that it was time to go back to Hawaii and we were able to get in at WS. It has not been maintained to the level that we remember, which is a shame but the staff are all wonderful!!!!! It is clean but very much in need of some TLC. When we say that we would not recommend this hotel to others the primary reason is because of the condition of the well worn rooms.

“Would try another hotel next time!”

The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. My husband loved the hot tub. There is no elevator--when we checked in we asked for a change from a 3rd floor room to a 1st floor room and we were accomodated--that was nice. The rooms are old and outdated--that was fine, but our room could have benefited from a good "spring cleaning". We got the daily "once over" lite cleaning, but there were several sufaces that had not been cleaned or dusted in months. A good strong shower cleaner would have done wonders for the "build-up" in the shower stall. After 24 hours, the wall unit air conditioner was still not cooling--we took off the cover and vents--filthy--a good cleaning and we were back in business. The toilet made a screeching noise every time it flushed. My husband took it apart and fixed it. There was trash and other "leave behinds" under the bed and couch when we moved in--I am sure they are still there. A little paint and some caulk would have gone a long way in our room. It just seems like it has been neglected. The public areas (pool and lobby area) are clean and well-maintained.
