Close to townPosted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: The owner was helpful and friendly. Offered suggestions about where to eat and sightsee.
Cons: The hotel really had an offensive odour...smelled like mildew or Mold. Needs updating desperately. Closed was an add on and parts of it were broken.
Location: Close to town For shopping, restaurants and beach. The town has a fabulous beach with beautiful sand.
We arrived early and were able to store our luggage at desk. When we returned our luggage was in our room. Owner suggested some things to do and where to eat so we tried one that night. Lovely seafood dinner by the water. We were happy with location and staff but room was below our standard and definitely in our opinion overpriced for what it was.

It was lovely. Claudette is a wonderful hostess and she even found crutches for my husband when he was injured and brought them to our room late in the evening.

A modest hotel at best.Posted May 27, 2014
I have never reviewed a hotel before but feel compelled to do so. This was not a resort in any sense of the word. It was an old building moderately well maintained. The water was cold until we complained. The staff was not particularly helpful. The room was small but tidy. The refrigerator did not work. The hotel was a long mile from town on a busy road with no sidewalks. I would not recommend this hotel.

You're on an island so everything is pretty closePosted Sep 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very clean, very well kept and nice and quiet. It's about a mile from the center of Oak Bluffs so if you're a walker, it's not a big deal. I would suggest taking a cab from the ferry if you have suitcases b/c it is an uphill walk and there are no sidewalks on New York Avenue. The complimentary continental breakfast was more than adequate and we had our fill while eating outside on the patio enjoying the sun. We had an AC in our room and TV (which we never turned on). The bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom is full size which is great and there was a full length mirror on the back of the door. For the ladies, there was a hair dryer provided. We did not hear any of the other tenants or any of the traffic despite facing the street. I would stay here again.

This is a beach cottage kinda of property. The furnishings are clean Salvation Army quality. Quaint funky vibe. Martha's Vineyard is the draw, this is just a place to sleep before hitting the sights.

Very impressed and pleasedPosted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: it was more like a bed and breakfast, warm and welcoming.
Cons: Flat screen TV
Location: it is located about a 10 to 15 min walk from downtown Oak Bluff. The bus lets you off at the beach. Many people walk or ride bikes in M V
the resort was more of a bed and breakfast. There's a large room on the first floor. There are 5 rooms on the second floor, each with their own bathroom, nice sitting room on the second floor that leads out to a balcony with umbrella tables. The rooms were clean. There's an air conditioner in the window. A television and mini frig, Tennis court in the back. We spoke to other vacationers who have been coming for 4 years. They stayed in the cottages behind the main building, they had a two bedroom cottage with a kitchen and living room. They love it. I highly recommend the Martha Vineyard Resort

The vineyard: 30 years laterPosted Jul 25, 2013
Pros: 1) Very quiet at all times 2) Clean 3) Location away from the Main road 4) The tennis courts
Cons: 1) Upgrade the bedding 2) Spruce up the tennis courts
Location: 1/2 mile to Oak Bluffs. Beaches (Jaws), shopping and delicious food. Short drive to Gay Head and Edgartown (30 minutes)
This was our first visit in 30 years. This time we had our young adult children with us. It's a great location because it is slightly away ( 1/2 mile) from Oak Bluffs. There was no noise or heavy traffic in our area. The rooms were very spacious. The master bed room was approximately 30' by 30'. The other bedroom was 12' by 14'. It had a small kitchen area which was convenient in case you want to eat in instead of dining out. The beds were satisfactory. The mattress could have been a little more firm instead of bowed in places. Overall the room was very clean. The tennis courts were clay and were fun to play on the soft surface. Some minor sprucing up of the surface would be beneficial. The rocking chairs on the front building porch were greatly relaxing. The continental breakfast was more than enough to satisfy our breakfast taste. It consisted of muffins, bagels, bread, granola bars, yogurt, bananas, cereals with coffee, orange juice, and milk to drink. Charlotte (the manager) was very personable and helpful with information. I would reccommend this resort to my friends. Stan
