Fall 2014

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, grounds are always maintained.
Cons: Can't think of anything!
Location: Mostly convenient to the center of Oak Bluffs and Edgartown.
We have stayed at this dog friendly hotel with our 2 German Shepherds' for about 5 years now. It is convenient, clean and well kept. Staff is always friendly. Pool area is always spotless. Looking forward to our next stay.

Not luxurious but just right

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Our particular unit :1.5 baths, kitchenette, tennis, pool, on #13 bus route for Oak Bluffs and Edgartown
Cons: Continental breakfast items could be offered for guests with coffee in office.
Location: Oak Bluffs shops and park area.
The Island Inn is not posh but is clean, well-appointed, well-planned in terms of space (the unit style we were in). Our unit had a queen bedroom with a half bath, kitchenette, living room, and an area where two twin beds were "apportioned off." It also had a full bath off of the kitchenette. A sliding glass door lead out too a patio (or balcony - if on second floor). Everything was clean and comfortable; the kitchenette thoughtfully included items like paper towels, dishwashing soap, sponges, appropriate cooking items, etc. This place is great for a family with children and I would stay here again for sure.

Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Room dated

Enjoyed the property. Quaint and a bit dated but wonderful staff. Location is really between Oak Bluff and Edgartown.

Great service

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Size of room
Location: Walking distance to beach. Need to drive to downtown (Oak Bluffs)
The rooms are spacious. The staff (especially Richard) was very helpful. Expedia made a mistake on my booking ... never sent the booking to the hotel !!! But staff tried really hard to help and fixed the problem. Good value for money!

Not too bad but not too good . . .

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The grounds were well maintained and pleasant, and staff members were polite and friendly.
Cons: The buildings and furniture were shabby: the fridge did not work, there was only one lamp in the room and the door locks appeared home made.
Location: There were nice tennis courts and a pool on-site and a golf course nearby, but the Inn is a bus ride away from a cup of coffee.
We enjoyed the island including the beaches, the shopping, boating and restaurants, but the Island Inn was not a highlight of our trip to the Vineyard.

Two story suite for families.

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Overall a decent hotel and two story suites spacious enough for family of five. Staff was accommodating. No breakfast provided. Although there is a restaurant at end of road Lola's that served a fabulous Sunday brunch! A bit of a trek into Oak Bluffs town by foot but better with bikes. Walking distance to beach towards Edgartown. Bike riding to Edgartown a must do !!

Affordable and convenient

Posted Jun 16, 2014
We had a nice stay, the rooms are clean, have minimum of necessities (pots, pans and such to make breakfast), lots of towels; we enjoyed the tennis court and the pool. The only inconvenient thing is (I doubt the staff can do anything about it though) is the building is very noisy. We lived in the condo suits on the second floor of the 3 story building. If you are trying to sleep and some one is walking above you (not jumping or running, just walking) it feels like the ceiling is about drop on your head, it is that noisy.

Inn at the Beach.

Posted Aug 9, 2013
Cons: Help with baggage.
Location: Location was not a problem because we had a car. A little far to walk to beach But not impossible. Our room was steps from the pool which was nice.
Had a great time. First floor is a little noisy from floor above but if you have small children that is to be expected.

Not as nice as advertised. Very Noisy.

Posted Jul 20, 2013
Pros: Grounds are nice. Location is good.
Cons: Not sure if it can because the building is poorly constructed
Location: Can walk to a nice state beach
Don't choose the room on the ground floor. It is like a cave. Also the building is timber frame so you can hear every step and conversation of your neighbors on all sides.
