Lovely B&B in Historic Oak Park NeighborhoodPosted Dec 26, 2014
Chuck was very welcoming, and the house/grounds were beautiful. Our room was modern and very clean, and breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed viewing all the paintings/art around the house and reading the travel books. Thanks for making our Christmas Eve get-a-way wonderful, Chuck!

Best place to stay in Oak Park and near the "L"Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: The owner- Chuck. He was a gracious host - who thought of everything to make our stay more then comfortable.
Location: Get on the "L" and go into Chicago. Go eat at a nearby place called Hemmingways
This was the best treat of my weekend in Chicago. I can not wait to go back to this hidden gem. If you are looking for a restful peaceful luxurious weekend- go to Bishops Hall. Simply fabulous!

A Restful StopoverPosted Oct 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Bishops Hall is extraordinary! We needed a solid night's sleep after flying from Australia, and we got it in the roomy, comfortable, quiet inn. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful, and the hostess went beyond the call of duty to take care of us. After breakfast, we walked through the beautiful Oak Park neighborhood to the Frank Lloyd Wright House, and it was only the necessity of catching another place that prevented us from staying longer.

Quiet, homely, friendly owner. 4 rooms to yourself including a steamroom. Chicago suburbs 10 minutes from downtown.

Perfect in every way!Posted Aug 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
The house was beautiful & spotless..so many amazing antiques & a beautiful garden...the owner was very friendly & cooked us an amazing breakfast...I just wish we could've stayed longer! We only stayed one night since it was one of the stop offs while we rallied across the states with MINI Takes The States....if we're ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here & much longer! Thanks for a beautiful time!

1st Class ServicePosted Jun 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
We knew our stay would be wonderful even before we got there. Charles sent us an email several day ahead of our arrival inquiring of any special dietary needs or desires. The hotel and rooms were spotless and the hospitality was excellent.

WONDERFUL experience!Posted May 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
No stone was left unturned to make our visit special: real flowers in vases; a tray with chocolate-covered raisins, cashews, and short pretzel sticks; a caraffe with water and two glasses, access to the library, the living room (complete with a tray of bourbon, etc., for us to enjoy), and the upstairs hall area. The whole building sparkled. The bedding and towels were luxurious. The decor was over-the-top--and I'm a decorator! Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, home-made breads, an amazing egg dish the first morning, and steel-cut oats the second morning, served with fruits, nuts, raisins, and cinnamon. The link sausage and raisin toast was a nice addition. Breakfast was served when WE wanted it, and they even accomodated our desire to have a later breakfast on Sunday, after we got back from church. We were staying there because our son who lives in Oak Park didn't have room for us at the house, but I could certainly see coming back for our own visit and taking the walking tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's houses. The neighborhood is incredibly beautiful--of course, it was spring, and all the spring flowers and trees were in bloom--with gorgeous mansions and beautiful gardens to enjoy on a walk or run. All in all, we really were made to feel special, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

superb in every respectPosted May 12, 2014
Pros: Everything: absoloutely no downside to staying here
Cons: Given the obvious trouble that Charles takes it would be rude to suggest any improvements!
Location: perfect for visiting Oak Park historic properties
WE stayed 2 nights here in order to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright houses in Oak Park. Charles is a gracious host who cooks superb breakfasts. Very comfortable room in a beautiful house ( almost a minor stately home.......) which is spotlessly clean and in a beautiful part of Oak Park. Remarkable value for money. Faultless.
