“Convenient for Oak Park”

We stayed in the motel rooms at the Carleton and they are perfect for a quick overnight stay. We had a high school sporting event at Fenwick High School in Oak Park and wanted to be close. The beds are small but the rooms were clean and had new LG flat screen TVs on the wall. This is not the type of room we would book if we were on vacation but it certainly serves the purpose if you want to stay in Oak Park and not spend the additional money to stay in the nicer hotel rooms. We will definitely stay there again when we have to return to Oak Park for sports.

Expedia rates are for out buildings, which are like motels. The neighborhood was nice. Would have liked to have been in main building.

“OAK PARK: Great history, beautiful gardens, good eats and shopping, safe.”

The main area and entrance reminds be of a traditional London hotel. It is absolutely beautiful. It is two blocks from the Green Line (Rapid) that goes right to the loop. No driving. No parking. Oak Park is a beautiful community steeped in history, including the lives of Ernest Hemingway and Frank Lloyd Wright.

“Great Location!”

Just a short walk to CTA station..motor lodge had updated 50's decor...cool and comfy. Would definitley stay again for time in Chicago!!! Great find!!!

“I'll return”

I found the Carleton to be quaint, convenient and my stay was comfortable. There was access to cafes in the surrounding area. I plan to use the hotel again in the future because it is close to where I have meetings and close to OHare.

“Loved Oak Park”

We drove from Midway Airport and were a little concerned about the neighborhood (we arrived at night). James who was incredibly helpful got us a room in the main house. The room was charming, beautiful old world elegance, romantic and perfect after a stressful day. When we woke and saw nearby Oak Park, we knew we were in the right place. We had eggs benedict at "Poor Phil's", which was the best eggs benedict that I've had in my whole life. We spend the day at Frank Lloyd Wright's house and the Unity Temple and then to the Hemingway Museum. We enjoyed a delightful lunch - we loved the day in Oak Park and can't wait to go back. There is construction -Expedia warned us of that. We're planning on a return visit in November and would love to return to the Carleton. Thanks so much

Spend the day in Oak Park - we were going to take the train downtown but had more than enough to do and see in Oak Park.

The Tourism Center recommended Winberries Restaurant - perfect for salads, drinks, and desserts. Id' definitely return. Got amazing cupcakes at Sugar Fixe Didn't have time to check out other stores but would make a trip back to check things out!

“Everything You Need In a Hotel”

Lobby area was very nice. Hotel location was very convenient right at the green line "L" train which was a definite need since was planning to go into Chicago. Stores, restaurants, movie theatre; basically everything you need. It was like a "neighborhood". The room had all you need also; especially a kitchen with a microwave! I would definitely stay there again if I need a hotel in the area
