Dated but clean and convenientPosted Jan 17, 2015
My room definitely could have used an upgrade a while ago and weren't in the best of condition. Despite that, everything worked just fine and my room was perfectly clean. The location of the hotel is nice as well, located near the water and a shopping center with a few restaurants. (I would highly recommend sushi house across the street; it's delicious!) As for comfort, I was in a room with 2 beds, one of which was hard as a rock and one that was really comfy. So I guess it's just luck of the draw. The room itself was quite spacious with a little kitchen and a lot of room for storage. The neighborhood also seems quite safe. In summary, if you're okay with and older hotel and facilities, I would definitely reccomend this one.

A night at the Coral ReefPosted Jan 13, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: See my comments on handicapped accessibility.
Location: On the water.
The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet and clean. Not as handicapped accessible as it could have been. For example, shower access involved getting into the tub, not easy for a person in a wheelchair. Light switch for bed was hard to reach and turn. Toilet paper a long reach behind the toilet -- hard for person with mobility issues.

The room needs upgrading. The TV is at least 15 years old and the accommodations are generally old. The breakfast was sparse. For the price the accommodations should be upgraded.

Enjoyable stay to bring in the New Year!Posted Jan 3, 2015
Pros: Apartment size suites.
Cons: Upgrade TV's. Comfy beds. Include cookware, plates, etc.
Location: Beach is right down the street. Grocery store, restaurants and clothing stores right across the street.
Pros: Customer service was great! Loved the size of our suite, it was our own little apartment for our 2-day stay. Room was very clean. Would definitely come back. Cons: Seems like an old apartment building. Floor creaked, carpets looked stained but seems they are trying to keep it clean as much as possible. Bed was a little uncomfortable (too firm). Suite includes kitchen but nothing to cook. Old box TV's. These things didn't bother us too much, but would be an even better experience if these things were upgraded/included.

Pros: Location was good.
Cons: Better furniture, and television sets.
Location: Good location for beach walks, shopping center across the street.
Old furniture, old style, old and small television set. Felt as if I entered an apartment left over from the 60s. It was clean. I had visited a friend at that hotel before and her room was nice. So there may be substantial differences depending on the assigned room

Thanks for the excellent customer service!Posted Dec 20, 2014
Pros: Overnight staff ag front counter very helpful and effective.
Cons: Weather was bad but maybe the grounds and roof need to be updated for future handling of heavy rains; tv controller only worked for one tv at a time.
Location: I went to oakland zoo ond day and chabot space center the next day.
Hotel staff really good! She catered to my requests for room and blanket perfectly. I had very nice stay. Headed to the east bay? I highly recommend a suite at the Coral Reef Inn.

Excellent locationPosted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: The customer service and the location.
Cons: Replace the hard mattresses.
Location: Perfect location can go walking on the beach and shopping just across the street.
We really enjoyed the location and the amenities. We were in walking distance of the canal shoreline and stores were conveniently located across the street. The room was clean and although an older building we were comfortable. I have to mention that they should replace the old mattresses they are quite hard, otherwise would definitely return.
