When I arrived to my room, it was ice cold, so I tried to turn it on but to no avail. So I called the front desk to report that I didn’t have any heat. The person I spoke with said she would call in the problem to the maintenance man.
I waited for over an hour but heard nothing back. Since I had just driven up to Alameda, I was tired and went to bed with nothing offered or done to solve my dilemma.
The next morning when I went down for breakfast, the ladies at an adjacent table were talking that they, too, were given a room with no heat. They asked for and were given another room that did have a working thermostat.
This is all very unsettling. I have family in Alameda whom I was meeting to celebrate Christmas with. I have come up here several times and always stayed at the Hampton-Oakland hotel. That said, I am likely to be looking for another hotel in the future.
