Good value in a pricey town

The room isn't awfully large but it was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. It's centrally located and we'll be staying there again.

The Pits

Posted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: every thing
Well, where do I start. Mold was on the wall of the tile/tub inside the caulking joints ( I have taken pictures ) The refrigerator made noise so bad that the desk clerk told me to turn it off, that all the refrigerators at his motel made noise. The bed had a depression on one side and well lumps else where. The cleaning of the room was bad one day the cleaning people left some kind of white paste on the floor so I had to clean it up with a towel. So by now you know that I will not be staying at Quality Inn in the furture

A typical reasonable motel

Posted Jun 22, 2015
It has basic amenities, an OK breakfast. Fair price.

It was just one night there and everything went well. The price is relatively high comparing to the rest of the world in terms of the service it has. But it was a pleasant night staying there.

Good for the price

For under $100, this place is a good find. Close to the action in Berkeley, the room was clean and updated. Can't complain.

Good budget hotel

Posted May 3, 2015 on Hotels
This hotell has better overall service than I thought. The rooms are ok (renovation was ongoing everywhere!) but the cleaning was not good, feels like someone had been cheating when doing their job. The walls are thin, so you hear everything going on in the hallway, next door, above and on the street. I've stayed at this hotel a few times and I always wake up several time. The breakfast is ok, some bread, eggs, coffee etc. The neighborhood is not all that charming, but it's easy to find right on one of the main streets.

Posted Apr 24, 2015 on Hotels
Perfect location if you are visiting UC Berkeley .Our family went on a college campus tour, it is in walking distance so you dont have to worry about street parking . I do recommend this hotel. The staff was very friendly , our room was very clean and nice.

Just for business. Breakfast was sub-par and room was very small but location was near the freeway.

A big disappointment

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: The breakfast. Nothing else.
Cons: Tear it down and rebuild.
Location: University Ave has some restaurants and other motels in walking distance. But not a particularly good spot.
We had considered the Doubletree as an alternative. Quality Inn won out because of king beds and about $25 less. In many ways the place was shabby. There is a big dumpster in the parking area and construction materials near the office. The free breakfast was OK, but there is a sign on the wall saying somethiing like "Guests are not allowed to take food to their rooms." I did eat in the breakfast area, but it was very worn and shabby. And I had tto take some food to the room to use the microwave as there was none in the breakfast area. One day they did not make the bed or clean the room at all. The night clerk offered to give us another room and $10. The day manager said they didn't do the room because we had left a "do not disturb" sign at the door. They could have called us, but didn't. The sign was miniscule even if we had left it. I will protest for part of the charges. That night was certainly not worth $149 + tax.
