Older hotel on a busy street, but clean and quiet

Posted Dec 14, 2014
Cons: Towels were plentiful, but need some fabric softener.
Friendly, helpful staff, small room but clean with all amenities. On a busy street, but traffic noise was minimal not disturbing. If you are looking for a cheaper hotel that is clean and comfortable this is it.

LOW Quality inn

Posted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: new TV and coffee maker
Cons: cleanliness, privacy, they need to fix a number of things in the room, holes in the wall, power plugs not working, dead light bulbs, just not too good
Room was dirty and damaged, hole in the wall, no shower curtain, extremely crowded room (pictures made it look bigger). The only outlets within reach of the desk (for my laptop) didn't work, I had to pull out the dresser and unplug a lamp to connect my computer! Internet was also very slow. And to top it all off, when I had been in the room about an hour or so, I was in my underwear about to get in the shower when a maid walked right into the room! It was lower quality and higher price than the place I stayed the night before (1 block away!), I am now in my 3rd room in within 2 blocks of this place, and I would go back to either of the other 2 before returning here!

Location: Not the nicest area of Berkeley to stay in.
Clean, but run down. Staff not especially helpful.

Nice Hotel Near UC Berkeley

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Very close to the university campus and the BART station.
Cons: it may need some renewing
Location: It was very convenient, two blocks from a trader joe's and a very good BBQ smokehouse!
It was god that because we arrive early, we wait for a little to get our room, but they got it before the check in time! We war looking for a good price, convenient location and a clean place; and i can say that it was good.

Automatic lights kept me up

Posted Sep 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
Automatic lights sound like a really good idea unless it's as bright as a flood light and the sensor area cover the bed. This is how my night went: wake up from floodlight, get up, manually shut it off, get back in bed, go to sleep, wake up from flood light, repeat. I was so tired after hours of this I didn't put it together that it was from the slightest shift I made as I slept. I dreamt it was on a timer set to torture me. It wasn't until six in the morning when I realized I should just cover the sensor. Not as easy when it's halfway up the wall. Finally dragged out the ironing board and propped it on the bed to lay against it. At least I got a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. I'll never stay at this hotel without tape to cover the sensor again. Other then that it was nice and in a good location.

Perfect one night stay

Posted Aug 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
Convenient location - friendly staff - comfortable bed. Pretty much what you expect and want in a short overnight stay. Only three blocks from the BART station as well which made it convenient to go the A's game. I would stay here again.

Small rooms friendly staff

Posted Aug 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms very small. Hardly any room to walk in between beds and dressers. Our remote didn't work. The beds are full size not queen. The breakfast was never restocked. For the price I felt I was cheated. The front desk clerks were friendly.

OK for a few days in Berkeley

Posted Aug 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a pretty standard franchise motel with the necessary amenities and a dedicated (albeit small) breakfast room. We stayed there because hotels inside San Francisco were ridiculously high priced, so we had to rent a car as well. Luckily this meant we got to see Berkeley and try some of the really good restaurants and cafes about a mile from the motel at Shattuck Av.
