Very pleasant and dependable! We have stayed here many times as our son is a student at UC Berkeley.

Cons: The water pressure in the shower was so weak that one could barely get wet, taking a shower was laborious. The breakfast was meager
Overall satisfactory. Staff helpful. Cleanliness excellent. Approach is difficult coming from the freeway.

The bathroom was dirty. Which was a deal breaker for me. The inn itself had a charm of its own .

Great budget stay accessible to San Francisco

Posted May 9, 2015
Pros: Low price, clean, good access to public transport (BART) and thereby San Francisco
I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It says on a sign outside that it was renovated fully in 2007, but the room I had seemed like it had been repainted, bathroom rebuilt, and bed linen all brand new within the last year or two. It was a great option for me (business traveller, self-employed and therefore budget conscious, and spending his own money) for sensibly priced access to San Francisco. Rode BART into the city and back each day; the hotel is a block and a half from the North Berkeley BART stop, and then about 20 minute ride for $4.00 to the financial district. There is a reasonable collection of restaurants nearby; this is not bustling downtown Berkeley, but perfectly serviceable.

I was in a room which was rather dark.

Pros: value for the money
Cons: brew decaf coffee in the morning
It was alright; I just needed a quiet place to sleep and this served that purpose.

Great-price clean nice hotel close to UC Berkeley

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: We liked the closeness to campus, the convenience of having free parking, the cleanliness of the room.
Cons: I think it was just more than great for the cost.
Location: Close enough to campus and good ethnic restaurants around. Couple of blocks with empty stores on the way to campus would worry me if walking at night.
This hotel was better than we expected: the room rate was great, it was close to UC Berkeley campus (20-25 minute walk), the room was very clean and comfortable for two people, and the people at the front desk were nice. Although we were a little worried about the location when we were arriving, once we drove into the parking area, we felt that it was well taken care of and safe.

My stay at the hotel

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: The excellent customer service
Cons: Personally I don't think improvement is necessary, I felt very comfortable
Location: Restaurants and fast food, it had everything close by
The first day I arrived they let me use the restroom before I finished registering myself witch I thought was a very nice gesture, each morning the breakfast was ready. Personally I can't walk very well and the gentlemen helped me carry my luggage to my room and he also showed me how to use the elevator so I wouldn't have to make use of the stairs, he also proved to me that chivalry is not forgotten

Clean and basic hotel very close to UCB

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: This hotel is very clean, quiet, and simple.
Location: Near UC Berkeley
This hotel is very clean, quiet, and simple. There is a tv, free wifi, clean and comfortable bed, a small desk area and a microwave/fridge combo. There is no room service, but there is a continental breakfast that is cold cereal, fruit, and breakfast granola bars. I loved staying here. It was cheap, close to campus (about a 20 min walk to UCB) and safe. I highly recommend if you need a place to stay while checking out Berkeley. You're not coming for a view, or the amenities like a pool or bellhop service. You come to the Rodeway Inn because you need a safe and comfortable place to sleep, bathe, and refresh yourself before continuing on your trip.

Passable. Cheap.

Very simple place to stay. A bed, a shower, and wi-fi. Room was vaguely musty but clean.
