OK If On A Budget

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Cost, but barely. The Bay Area market is too expensive for what you get.
Cons: Cleanliness, and maintenance.
Location: Jack London Square is only about 10 minutes away. There is shopping there, restaurants, and the ferry terminal to take you to the city or North Bay.
This property is OK if staying in the Bay Area on a budget. Finding properties under $100 in this area is tough, and they are all liable to be poorly cared for, as this one is. A similar property in my home town would rent for half what this area charges. The room was a decent size with plenty of space, but the furnishings were old and well-worn. The sheets and towels were clean, but the sofa was stained. The bathroom sink was cracked, and there was a thick layer of dust along the top edge of the shower stall. Also, the bathroom door knob was missing a screw, making it very loose. They do have a pool on the property, but until you get there, no one tells you it is only open from 11AM to 5 PM (basically when you're likely to be elsewhere). Overall, a property with potential if someone put the effort and money into cleaning and maintenance. Very convenient to downtown Oakland and Jack London Square, but please open the pool into the evening when your guests are in.

Good for a budget

Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: I hate spending money on a motel when i'm only going to be there 8 hours to sleep. This was perfect--clean and efficient w/ no unused frllls.
Location: We were going to Berkeley...close enough.
This motel was very adequate for our purposes. We were only sleeping there so didn't need any special amenities. It was clean and comfortable. No bed bugs. The breakfast was served nicely. Quiet area and no fear of vandalism to car.

Starbucks nearby

Posted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Close to freeway. Okay for the price.
Cons: New paint on the walls. Bathroom grout could be cleaned.
Location: College of Alameda is nearby hotel. Walgreens and Starbucks are across the street.
The room I stayed in was about half updated. My room had one bed and a full kitchen including refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. The wall needed new paint and the grout on the bathroom floor needed some serious cleaning. Overall, I did feel safe in the neighborhood. Most of the guests that weekend were not loud and obnoxious.

Its ok just to stay couple of days

Posted Sep 22, 2013
Pros: close to downtom, refrigerator and microwave
Cons: offer breakfast at least some fruits, juice and something to eat.
Location: walgreens and arco gas station close.
First thing i want to let people know its the staff was nice and friendly but as soon we went to the room it was smelly and the bathroom was dirty (with bad odor) with few hairs on bathtub but overall it was ok they need to put deodorant on the rooms to make them smell good otherwise they will smell like dirty toilet ,anyways i would recomend it if you want to stay for few days . And beware they are suppose to give free continental breakfast but they don't have nothing, that was a lie we went to the office at 8 am and they only had a bad coffe that taste like grass.

Good News- I didn't Die

Posted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: I have a new badge of courage story
Cons: Pretty much everything could be improved
Location: Nice mini mart.
Hotel door safety lock was broken off. I suspect forced entry.... Spend a couple extra bucks and go elsewhere.

Pros: close to Alameda hospital
Cons: change management, buy a vacuum and some cleaning solution
dirty-the bathtub shower tap was so greasy had to use a washcloth to turn the water on, when we needed an extra night they tacked on an extra 50 dollors.
