Berlin, Germany's capital, is roughly 220 miles (354 kilometers) to the northeast of Oberthulba, while Frankfurt is 55 miles (89 kilometers) to the west.
Oberthulba is not the only place in Bavaria worth exploring; visitors can also drive a little further out to experience the magic of the surrounding countryside, cities and cultural attractions. If you are looking for more things to see and do, check out the Evangelical Church of Zuntersbach and The Fuglein Family Memorial Cross in and around Sinntal, which you'll find 15 miles (24 kilometers) to the east of Oberthulba.
Wuerzburg, is another interesting place to explore. It is 30 miles (48 kilometers) from Oberthulba and offers a diverse range of things to do and see, such as Botanical Garden, Juliusspital and Congress Centrum Wuerzburg. University of Wuerzburg, Fortress Marienberg and Alte Mainbruecke are also well-worth a visit while you are in Wuerzburg.
A really good way to get a true feel for an area is by gaining an understanding of its history. While here, be sure to visit the area's old towns. No matter what your spiritual beliefs, you're sure to be moved at Bavaria's churches and other sites of spiritual significance.
If your idea of a perfect break is challenging your abilities in the great outdoors, then check out one of the rock climbing or mountain biking trips the Oberthulba area has to offer. This area is a great place to get outside and participate in some great winter activities. When temperatures drop, pull on your woollens and spend the day snow shoeing and cross-country skiing.
When it is time to depart Oberthulba, put the lens cap back on your camera, spend your last of your euros on last-minute souvenirs, and bid Tschüss (farewell) to this unique part of the world.
