Hotel was perfect for what we needed

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: The staff, the redwoods and the restaurants in the area
Cons: Coffee or breakfast on site
Location: The town of Occidental is really cute little town with great restaurants and the zip line was just a few miles down the road
The hotel was perfect for what we needed for just an overnight stay, the staff was very friendly and informative about the area, rooms and property were nice and clean.

Quiet spot in beautiful mountains

Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: Location in the town of Occidental.
Cons: Needs remodeling.
Location: Explore the redwoods, towns, wineries and restaurants.
The motel is older and in need of remodeling. Since there are only 2 motels in town the prices are above the market with competition. The carpet is old and wrinkled, not tight to the walls. The combo tub shower drained very slowly, with the shower leaving water over the top of your feet. The motel is not a destination resort, but a base station to explore from, and rest for the night. Occidental's two Italian restaurants are close to the older family style, serving gigantic meals of many courses (I always order the baked half chicken and take it with me as I cannot eat the rest).

Nice hotel, in a quaint little town, by the ocean

Posted Apr 26, 2014
Pros: The personnel
Cons: Nothing comes to me
Location: Just off the main highway, a short 10 minutes. Quiet. Short travel to the ocean and the redwoods. Quaint little town with a variety of good eateries.
The clerk was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I loved the night sky, covered with stars. Quiet little community, with good eats and only a short drive to the beach. Solid deal for all the personal perks,

A bad value

The room is way over priced for what you get. The room amenities are marginal at best. It was small and cramped. The bed was too hard and the room was poorly lit. During the night we could hear people walking in the room above us, a baby crying to the right of us and the shower running to the left of us. I'll never stay there again.
