Good value for the price.Posted Oct 8, 2012
Pros: the view and the location
Cons: where's the ice machine? no courtesy pen for the courtesy pad of paper or filling out the room survey
Location: perfectly located across the street from the Convention Center!
Older but well kept hotel. My 4th floor ocean view was spectacular (attached are photos of the view when I walked into my room, and the dawn's early light I was blessed to wake up to) and high enough so that any noise from the bar/restaurant/night club below was a non-factor. Gated parking was a plus. With more time I might have taken advantage of the pool, restaurant, nightclub and breakfast buffet. But I was there to participate in a car show. The flat screen cable was nice although had I wanted to watch HBO, the last night and morning the sound was lost on HBO only for some unknown reason. The mini-fridge froze all my icepacks and chilled on my bottled drinks. Never did find an icemachine on the floor. It is perfectly and centrally located across the street from the Convention Center (where I had to check in for that weekend's show) and therefore a short drive from everything!

Great bar!Posted Sep 5, 2012
Pros: The bar and beach side service
Cons: The breakfast Buffett was not good. The elevator doors would open before the elevator was even on the floor...scary! Very old fashion hotel.
Location: Location was great. It's near the boardwalk and close to Seacrets and Faggers Island.
If it wasn't for the outside bar I don't think this hotel would get such high ratings. The rooms are run down and everything from the AC to the refrigerator made loud noises. Not very pleasant when you are trying to sleep.

Nice hotelPosted Aug 27, 2012
Pros: private balcony, Restaurant on grounds, quiet.
Cons: long walk from parking lot to hotel
Location: Within walking distance to boardwalk. Quiet - family perfect.
Room was clean. Staff was helpful. My girlfriend was on crutches, and they even had a beach wheel chair to take her down with. Restaurant in hotel - buffet breakfast was great. The balcony view of ocean was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Good for anyone, especially a familyPosted Aug 24, 2012
Pros: friendly staff, value
Cons: Internet service was very poor
By no means an 'upscale' resort, this is a very nice place - clean enough, maintained enough, roomy enough, and a very good value. The staff were incredibly friendly - always a smile. The three taller buildings are probably the better places to stay, the little cottages out in the middle of the parking lot seemed nowhere near as nice. Very good pool.

We had a blast! Loved our room!!Posted Aug 16, 2012
Pros: How big and clean our room was. The pillow were so soft and lots of them!
Cons: The water pressure isn't strong, but how many hotels on the beach are?
Location: Perfect, Ocean Front 37th Street, private gated parking
I read some not so good reviews but I must say I was impressed with our room. It had new carpet, new furniture, granite counter tops...everything and more than I expected. It was 3 of us on the trip myself, son with special needs(14) and nephew (14). We had a great Ocean front view that we sat and looked at the ocean in the evening and morning. We had dinner on the patio after a long day at the beach! We didn't have to wait to be seated and our food was great! All of the staff we spoke with were very nice and polite. I'm so impressed I just scheduled for next month so my husband and I can come for the Wine Fest package they have. Thanks for a great stay!

Decent place to stay for the moneyPosted Aug 11, 2012
Pros: Right on the beach.
Cons: Bad water pressure in the shower.
The Hotel was ok. At times the elavator was very slow because the staff needs to use the same elevator as the hotels quest to transport materials. The hotels water pressure was terrible it was very difficult to rinse the soap off of you in the shower it came out so slow. The staff were all nice it was a decent place to stay.

Rundown and overpriced.Posted Aug 5, 2012
Pros: Pool when there was no poo poo in it.
Cons: Run down
Location: Not a bad location
The pictures on the web site were very misleading. The place is rundown. The staff uses the one elevator in the building bring garbage up and down. Garbage cans are left right in front of the first floor elevator.....they stink. I smelled roach spray near the cans in the morning. Nice pool......some kid did take a turd in it though. The capet and wall paper very outdated. The bathroom was very small.....tough for a big man to have a little quaility time on the toilet. I would not reccomend for the price they charge.

Good location and clean propertyPosted Jul 22, 2012
Cons: Fluctuating water temperature
Location: Excellent. On the beach.
The rooms are much nicer than the exterior of the property would indicate. Very clean with a friendly staff. The bathrooms need updating and the water temperature in the shower was very difficult to regulate. Great location and nice pool. We even had access to changing facilities after checking out, so we could enjoy the beach and change for the ride home even though we were no longer registered guests.

Nice hotel with competitive room costPosted Jul 4, 2012
When I made my initial reservation, I was not told about cheaper rooms. I happen to learn this when I booked two additional nights (I arrived earlier than planned). The staff at Castle in the Sand need to be up front about these lower cost rooms. They did change my assigned rooms and I saved over $300.00 !!!!!!

Clean and comfortablePosted Jun 16, 2012
Pros: great beach access
Cons: slow elevator, old building
Location: good, but had to take the bus 10 blocks to the start of the boardwalk
clean large room, was concerned about noise since it was senior week, but never heard a sound, slept well. great access to the beach, the breakfast buffet was ok for the price. wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. get a room on a lower floor, the elevator has to be the slowest elevator in maryland. took the steps when not overloaded with baggage, was quicker by far!
