“good hotel”

“Ocean City Comfort Suites”

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The first room they gave us had not been cleaned. We found opened packages of tacos and candy in the closet. The sheets looked like they had not been changed and there were stains on the comforters. The second room they brought us too was not any better. The sheets in this room had hair on them and the floor was not vacuumed. The wash clothes in the bathroom were used and there was a used bar of soap left in the soap dish. The third room was marginally better. This was because we had them inspect and clean the room before going in. We would not have stayed if most of the area hotels had not been sold out.

“Nice but would try another hotel if I went back to OC”

The hotel was nicely situated not far from the ocean city boardwalk, but not right on the beach/boardwalk. It had a nice pool that the kids loved. Unfortunately, the pool closed at 8 pm which was early for us. We also had to vacate the pool for maintenance which was annoying. The condition of the hotel was a bit run down with stains on the carpet in the hallway. The air conditioner broke down during our stay. The staff was responsive but unable to fix it and we had to gather all of our stuff and move to another room. The breakfast was good, but could have used more seating. No chocolate chip cookies either, only dog biscuits!

“Wish they vacuum it , and better yet - never had carpets”

The hotel appeared to be clean - but the rooms were not vacuumed, nor windows could have been opened to allow some fresh air in. The smell on the side-stairways was awful. We would have stayed longer in Ocean City, but the hotel was just bearable for very short period of time

Area recommendations

Beside the beach, would recommned the Assateague island for bike ride. We were lucky to go there on a cloudy afternoon. Wild life, wild horses are the main attraction. I just weih we had chance to check the beach on the island.

Free parking - if you drive further north toward 23rd street, around that area a lot more free parking spaces that are available any time of the day - just make sure that curb is not coloured to red or some other colour and has assign...

“More than I expected.”

More than I expected. Great chocolate chip cookies in the lobby and a very good breakfast. Make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, sauage... really good on Saturday, but not as good on Sunday. Not your average cont. breakfast...... better. Since we were only staying for two nights, we didn't want the maids to come in. I always feel like I have to clean before they come in. We put the do not disturb sign on the door and when we came back from running around OC there was a bag of fresh towels waiting for us. The location was great, b/c all the really good rest. are in west OC.

Dining

Since there are so many new developments in West OC, there are a lot of great resturants. The Shark, Sunset Grille, and Mickey Fins. High quality dinning.

“Would definitely stay again”

Kaitlyn at the front desk was great! She was very courteous, efficient and friendly. The hotel was a nice 5 minute drive from the beach, very clean, nice gym facility. The breakfast was ok (good for the price of the stay) and our stay was very pleasant. The only thing that didn't go smoothly was that one of us forgot a toothbrush at home. We asked the front desk if they had one, and they said they "just ran out, and the new shipment hadn't come in yet." This happened twice on two separate stays. Coincidence? I'm not sure... Otherwise, great stay! Would definitely stay again!

“40th reunion stay”

the staff was friendly.The room was clean and comfortable.The food was fresh and good.The surrounding areas were fun and the access was easy.A great place to stay.Will come back next year for sure.

The Boardwalk.was the best for me.We took lots of pics and ate lots of food and spent lots of money...What a great time!

“Comfort Suite Not Impressed”

Our key card didn't work the three days we were there, meaning that we had to go back to the front desk each time we wanted to get in our room. Sheet on sofa bed was dirty, our tub was left dirty on the same day our dirty towels were left in our room. Makes me wonder if they did anything but make the beds. We were told that bus transportation was across a two lane highway to find out it was a busy four lane highway with a median. Restaurants were in walking distance along with a local bar. Outlet mall was across the street. The surrounding buildings on each side of the hotel was run down. I don't think this hotel was worth the money we spent. The price more than tripled on Friday and Saturday.

“check-in woman was a B!!!! no wonder they allow dogs!”

Upon check-in, the woman checking in was quite sarcastic! What a way to begin a stay....then I find out that our (2) rooms that were book at the same time on the same booking were on entirely separate floors at total opposite ends of the building----and we were put in a previously rented "dog" room---yes, this hotel rents to dogs---only on the 1st floor--as sarcastically stated by the woman who checked us in---she of coursed blamed the room mix up on Expedia stating that Expedia didn't tell them we were traveling together---helllloooo---the (2) rooms were book together at the same time---the staff was atrocious!! The woman cleaning up the "breakfast area" actually emptied the pancake batter as I watched a gentleman trying to make breakfast for his (2) small sons---it was a minute prior to the official closing of "breakfast"---he was annoyed and as his sons bellowed---he quickly offered them cereal instead---it was heartbreaking to watch....don't stay here---these people are sarcastic and cruel!!!

Phillips Seafood buffet is horrible! Bonfire buffet is 100% better---no comparison---hands down---the seats are more comfortable--less crowded---as Bonfire doesn't cram you within inches of the next party beside you--the A/C actual works and you won't sweat thru your entire meal---you can actualy see what you're eating as the Bonfire is beautifully decorated and not like the pirate-dark dingy setting of Phillips--most ofall---the quality of the buffet food is much better---selections galore and immediately noticeably better quality of preparation and fresh foods---for family of 5, bonfire was about $14 more in total cost overall---less than $3 additional per person---believe me, you'll appreciate the difference and glaaaadly pay the couple bucks more---better yet--go to early bird 4-5pm seating and you save $5 each person! We learned the hard way---after going to Bonfire after Phillips the 2nd night---
