Mytic Mountain RatingPosted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
The stay was comfortable. Close to the amenities in the town, transportation to beach was good. breakfast was great. Breakfast staff was very friendly and cordial. Hotel front staff was very social. Could use at least two movie channels, plastic utensils, proper iron board, chair instead of a stool to be used at the table.

Quiet, not impressedPosted Aug 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was ok, quiet. Not necessarily what I was expecting from a resort. The venue was pretty but the rooms could def use some renovations. Although this hotel was not far from main attractions it was still a little secluded. Very quiet. No night life. Our first night at this location we went walking to find food and something to do, we didnt get good direction and because of its location we only found one restaurant and ended up spending most of the night in the room. Later we found out that if we had walked a little further or in the opposite direction for about a mile we wouldve ran into the port and more options on food and things to do. The next day the hotel did however provide us with a ride to Mystic Mountain and comped our air lift ride which was actually amazing, id recommend everyone to go, but that was they only highlight of this hotel. All and all I prob would not stay at this hotel again.

A good choice for avoiding all-inclusivePosted Aug 5, 2013
Location: Up a steep hill from the Ocho Rios Jerk Centre (which is also the bus terminal), walking distance to the main beach and local shopping.
Rented a standard room which was a bit cramped. Beautiful property, nice pool and excellent restaurant. Apparently most of the rooms are owned by individual investors, so the level of maintenance varies considerably, but the front desk is good at fixing problems if you bring them to their attention. The local ambience of Ocho Rios (which isn't for everyone) and the main beach are within walking distance, but there is a steep hill to climb on your way back. Seems to be popular with Jamaicans on vacation (we were there in late July) and would be a good choice if you don't like the all-inclusive experience.

Great locationPosted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: Guests seemed to be a mixture of private owners and resort guests - no worries there. Breakfast was included and was quite a treat.
Cons: I can see where getting in and out of the bathtub would be a problem for someone with mobility problems.
Location: Great location: walking distance to local sites. They did offer a free shuttle to the beach for those who did not want to walk.
After staying in Kingston for work-related purposes. I decided to take a break in Ocho Rios. I'm still not sure why I was unable to book directly through the hotel's website, but I succeeded on Expedia.com. I'd seen this hotel while passing through Ocho Rios before but was unaware that the name had changed. This was my first visit and, although I arrived early, the receptionist was able to check me in after a short wait to ensure the room was ready.

Good Value, But Facilities Need ImprovementPosted Jul 15, 2013
The location of the hotel is great - close to major attractions and a short drive to the beach, and a very nice view of the town. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and were pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was excellent. Where this property disappoints is the facilities. The Jacuzzi was not working - and I was told that it had not been working for years! Two of the three rooms my family occupied had a horrible, musty smell and a roach running across the bed when we first walked in. When we told the front desk staff, they sent housekeeping to our room right away. However, the smell of the room did not improve. The exterior of the buildings could use a paint job. This could be a great place to stay, with just a few improvements to the property.

Not a 'Mystic' afterall!!!Posted Jul 12, 2013
Pros: The security guard is really a hard working individual!!!
Cons: Visible managers; activities for tourist(tour groups, parties, etc)
Upon my arrival to the hotel at 12:30 pm; the receptionist informed me that my room was not ready at the moment. After a long flight from Washington, D.C, I was exhausted, hot and hungry. I dragged my suitcase to the dinning area and ordered a meal fit enough for a child.... After three hours, my room was ready. I slept peacefully for the remaining of the afternoon. The next morning, I inquired at the front desk about arranging fro me to visit the Bob Marley museum, and places in Kingston for a one a day tour. When I inquired about this, the attendants at the front desk pretended as though they did not know of any tour companies. Instead, its seems as though they would highly prefer for me to pay 100-200 US for a personal driver instead of saving money and arranging the tour with other tourist. I knew they were telling a fid! I traveled to many countries, and lived in the caribbean for some time; I know the game. I never met the manager to inquired about certain things. think they were either hiding or choose not to be visible. Which is UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I smelled weed is during the night---- it was disgusting!!!! The hotel seems empty-although I was told during check-in that "It is crowded here". I was bored out of my mind...Nothing much to do except swim atthe pool-no parties...nothing!!! I overheard other guests complaining about services, etc. I was more excited to leave 'Not so Mystic'. NEVER AGAIN!!! DO NOT STAY HERE; ITS NOT WORTH IT!!! DON'T LET PICS FOOL YOU!

Worst ServicePosted Jul 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
This stay almost ruined my trip. The service at the lobby and the restaurant is extremely rude and unprofessional. Also, our room was not even ready when we got there (at 4pm), the staff new little about the surrounding area, and the wifi only worked next to the pool. Relative to other hotels for the quality of rooms, the price is ok and it has a nice view (from the lobby), but I would not recommend anyone stay here (especially if you are not Jamaican).

overrated, overpricedPosted Jul 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
no toiletries, rooms are poorly designed and roof is low and a hazard, breakfast is not a "buffet" as advertised.
