    “Don't go there!”

This resort is rated with 3 1/2 stars and should have 1 or no stars. From the check-in to the grounds to the food to the room to the beach, it was so much less than the pictures appear and I would never go there or stay again. We moved after the first night. The positive was that the resort manager was very helpful and understanding and she facilitated a move to another resort.

“Super fun resort, not so fun beach.”

Its a great resort for the money. Food, service, drinks, grounds all wonderful. The only 2 things i didnt like about it they really cant change. 1. the rooms do not have balconies. most of the resorts modeled like superfun have balconies, the rooms open up with big windows but its not the same. 2. the beach is ok however the water is only knee deep at most places within the roped off area. if you go past the ropes to find water a bit more "swimable" the lifeguards yell at you. there is a local beach next door which i would describe as majestic, i recomend you check it out. again both of these knocks are beyond their control. i cant say enough about the staff, they were wonderful. The resort is fun, waterslide, piano bar, disco etc. It was a great experience especially for the what we paid.

    “Underwhelmed”

The Superfun Resort was Underwhelming. The hotel was clean. The room was clean and spacious. The Staff were all very friendly. But now the not so nice. The food was mediocre at best. Breakfast was the worst. Not much selection. Lunch was better. A little more variety. Dinner was nice, though you better eat early because they would run out of food. You had to pay attention to the daily hotel planner. Restaurants would be closed on certain days. Very inconvenient The daily activities could be exciting if they actually held them when they were supposed too. The beach was nice but the water service employees were lazy. There was no HOT water in the room .

    “We have an awesome time”

From check-in to check-out, our stay was awesome. Our room was clean, though in need of some maintenance (for ex, soap dish in bathroom had a hole in it). However, the service was great and the food was excellent. We ate at the buffet several nights and were never bored and we ate at the grill once (jerk chicken was delicious). We also ate at the Japanese restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious birthday cake for my husband. The alcohol was plentiful and the bartenders were fun, especially at the piano bar (you go, "Captain" Morgan). The beach was nice, protected from the ocean surf by a breakwall. Note that tipping, while not required, was really expected so bring plenty of small bills. We previously stayed at the Breezes in the Bahamas (owned by the same company) where the staff literally backed away from tips for fear of being fired. At this hotel, the reception staff actually encouraged you to "reward good service". That and the need for more staff to allow for additional reservations at their specialty restaurants were the only down-sides to this hotel. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an adult getaway. This hotel was recently converted from a Hedonism hotel. While there are still some remnants of the previous hotel theme in the decor, everything else has changed over.

Chukka Farms zipline was so much fun!!! If you can work this side trip into your vacation, absolutely do so. The staff were well-trained and even the feint of heart were made to feel comfortable zipping from tree to tree. They have other activities on site as well - horseback riding and ATV tours.

“Great get away and best value for the dollar.”

We know what to expect when we stay at the Ritz Carlton (when necessary for business) or a motel six ( so we don't stay there). This is neither. It is a great resort for the money. Great service, friendly people, good food (not gourmet), lots of fun activities (from the musical chairs, water slide, beach volleyball, to the pool and beach parties) and we enjoyed every minute of it. We know where to stay if we wanted total luxury (not here). We know the villas available with upright butlers, formal maids and chuffuers (not here). Gourmet meals (not here). We stayed here to have fun, relax from the hectic formal business world we leave temporarily, forget our proper english (NO PROBLEM MON), be young (in mind, and spirit ), and rekindle our fun relationship that gets lost easily in our daily lives. The food is good, the atmosphere is friendly, laid back and carefree, no kids to dodge, drinks are good, and there is plenty to do and not do. It is clean, fun, and friendly. Leave your mature side home and have some fun if you vacation here or just relax. The spa is nice (not the fanciest but okay) the pools are great, and the resort has a great layout. Don't even think about room service (available but not the greatest) unless you order the champagn and fruit combo (additional but worth it). We recommend instead to take your dinner plate to one of the rope suspended platform beds on the beach under the stars or in the garden area (much more romantic than room service).

    Area recommendations
We recommend you enjoy the resort. If a great night life is what you are looking for, head to Ocho Rios (15-20min) to one of the well known night spots. Not much else to see besides what you see on the trip to the resort. Jamaica is Jamaica plus the different resorts. Great beautiful hillsides (take the zip line, mountain combo) dunns river falls trip (a must for people who have not been), a romantic river raft ride is memorable, and the beach party boat trip is good. All excursions can be set up at the resort. If you have done all of those before or are not interested, just enjoy the resort. If you enjoy historic, then do the plantation trip or the Bob Marley museum tour. Coming from the museums of Wash., D.C. and the sites of NYC it won't be much, but you would be glad you went. For better white sand beaches Ocho Rios and Nigril. The public beach around the bend from the resort has a great sandy bottom into the water.
    Getting around
We never left the resort. In six days we enjoyed the resort so much we opted out of going anyplace else. We were invited to a beach party (midnight to 4am) with the locals from Ocho Rios, and they offered to provide transportation but we were too worn out from our day of activities at the resort. Other friends we met at the resort did venture to party atother clubs, and famous bars in Jaimaca and reported cab fares of over $100 and all said the drivers stayed there and returned them safely without additional charges.
    What to pack
Multiple swim suits, BEACH SHOES, shorts, light tops, beach wear, sunscreen, large water bottles (to prevent frequent trips to the multiple bars), and maby one casual outfit (for the two specialty restuarants).
    Shopping
On the ride to the resort, the bus stopped by a small roadside store (to give everyone a rest stop if you fall for that one). The store had nice items, but better bargains are found at the resort and if you venture around the bend at the resort and take a nice stroll down the beach beyond, the best bargains can be found. We took an impropto horse back ride we arranged with some locals, from the resort along the beach and into shallow water to get there. The price we paid for the ride was well worth the savings we received, not to mention a nice 1 hr trip where we were able to ride along and into the beach.
    Dining
The main restuarant for all three meals and at midnight was good. Not gourmet, but good and always all you can eat. The skylight cafe, opened from noon to midnight with changover closures, we found to be more tasty, but limited in the selections. We had plans to visit the two more upscale dinner restuarants, but never wanted to get out of our beachwear to make the reservations. Besides, for our taste, the two casual eateries were fine. OH! by the way, you won't find a hot dog anywhere on the island of Jamaica!!!!
    Nightlife
The club on premise is fantastic except for the amount of guest that showed up each night. We did not need a big crowd to enjoy ourselves so we did not mind. But who does not show up to a club where the drinks are free and can request the music they wish to dance to and even bring your own cd for the dj to play? It opened at 11pm with 10-15 people showing up. It would stay open to 4am, but by 2am everyone is gone. Maybe the dance people did not show up while we were there?
    Events and shows
The shows were entertaining, but are sure not broadway. But hey, you get what you pay for, an inexpensive all inclusive, no kids to dodge, great get-away, with lots to do or not do. We did not go for the shows, we went for the warmth, beach, no pressure fun and we got every dollars worth and then some more.
    Outdoors or beach
Both beaches are fantastic for sun bathing, kayaking, snorkling, but don't expect the sand to go far into the water. Wear your beach shows if venturing into the water. Non poisonous sea orchides are commonly found under and around the rocks 10' into the water (painful if stepped on). Save the water frolicking for the great multiple pools. The smaller more secluded beach was great for topless tanning and a more romantic, relaxing, time. The public beach around the bend (walking distance) from the resort has a great sandy bottom into the water. Enjoy the water slide, really a great one and never a line. Brave the cooler water at night as you go through the clear tube through the night club. The hot tubs are heated at night and were never crowded day or night (we found one each night to ourselves). Ping pong tables, billiards (especially in the pool), tennis court, volleyball court, slot machines (don't expect to win big, but fun), the oversized chess set, and the basketball court, were all in great shape (even the equipment)and provided lots of quick fun between the meals, kayaking, snorkling, glass bottom boat trip, sunbathing, and of course the rum drinks.

    “Will Definitely Go Back”

I read so many negative reviews about this resort prior to my arrival, but I still took a chance and booked. I based my decision on price, size of resort and the fact that it was an all inclusive ADULTS only resort. Glad to report that Super Fun Beach Resort exceeded all my expectations. It was nicely laid out, it was a short walk to anywhere. The rooms were comfortable, food adequate and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. If you are the type of traveler who demands glamour, granite and glitz, this place is definitely NOT for you. But, if you are looking for a value priced vacation that attracts genuine and grounded people, this place will not disappoint you.

“It was *OK* but I wouldn't come back.”

Main reason i would not come back is beach, or should i say "beaches". There are 2 of them, they're both extremely small, but that wouldn't be a problem if not for the seaweed. 90% of the bottom of the beach is covered in it. You do not feel like stepping down there. Negril is the place to go to the beach, but not runaway bay. Free excursions help it though. The staff is polite, and will be able to answer some questions. It's a place mostly for older people, so if you're 20 - 30, I'd suggest another place. Also, even though it says there's a nude beach - it is there no longer. Shame, I think it would have been fun.

    Area recommendations
Definitely go to Negril. Beach there is awesome. Just make sure you get it all inclusive, because food and drinks on the beach cost a LOT. Me and my wife ate (without drinks) for $60 there. Imagine doing that 3 times a day for a week:) All inclusive definitely worth it.

“Very overpriced for what it is. Don't expect a resort”

I definitely wouldn't recommend this resort to my friends. It's truly the first time that a beach resort hasn't lived up to our expectations. Fortunately another resort had vacancies for the last 4 days of our vacation. Unfortunately SuperFun didn't refund the money for the nights we left early, even after the front desk told us they would do so through Expedia. You will immediately realize it is run-down and out of date. It reminded me of a what I imagine a Motel 6 looked like in 1980. From the exterior, to the rooms, to the bathrooms, to the tv, it just felt poorly kept. The included activities were frequently cancelled without warning or explanation. Other guests had commented on the same thing when we arrived, but we gave it a chance. Out glass-bottomed boat excursion never showed up. The activities employees had no explanation or warning. They just told everybody to wait and see if it showed up. The boat was there overnight. Where did it go? Nobody knows. The employees made it very obvious that they were annoyed if you asked for anything. I politely asked the waitress at the grill for a hot dog. She responded by scowling and walking away. We spent 15 minutes wondering if she was going to come back with a hot dog or not. This was the general level of service at the resort. They advertise room service, but the front desk told us they don't The spa could be confused for a pink plywood toolshed. The other guests and local cabbies seemed to agree with our analysis.
