“Amazing Experience For Sandal's First-timers”
This was our first vacation at a Sandals Resort and it was an amazing experience. It may have been our first Sandals experience, but it will certainly not be our last. The Sandals Lounge at the airport and the shuttle ride to the resort were pleasant and provided a nice prelude to our first Sandals experience. I read reviews before I booked that indicated if you don't have butler service, you will have difficulty getting into the restaurants and finding good pool and/or beach side chairs. We chose to forego butler service and I am happy to say, we encountered neither of those issues. We booked a luxury garden view room located in the cottages on the Riviera side and it was charming and provided everything we needed. The grounds of the resort are gorgeous. We enjoyed all of our meals and felt the food was above average. We found all staff to be friendly and courteous. The diving and spa staff were exceptional. Our favorite features of the resort besides the all-inclusive aspect were the swim-up pools, viariety of food and restaurants, and the many romantic and picturesque hideaways tucked away on the property. The only thing we felt needed improvement was housekeeping. We had to repeatedly ask for our refrigerator to be re-stocked and it wasn't until our 3rd night that we were graced with towel art and flower petals on our beautiful king-sized beds.
“Fantastic couples or honeymoon getaway!”
The whole experience was great. The entire staff was extremely friendly, accommodating, and eager for us to enjoy our vacation to the fullest. The resort had a wide range of included water sports, which would be an added expense at other resorts. The amenities were fantastic; in room bar; personal pool; great ocean view. The food and restaurants were wonderful. The cuisine was delicious and the ambiance was really nice. All of our meals were very enjoyable. We would gladly return anytime.
“Awesome”
This was a last minute vacation for my girlfriends Birthday.. and we didn't know what to expect at all. This was Perfect.. we could relax at the beach till 12 or 1 then drink it up at the swim up bar. Eat breakfast over looking the beach.. Lunch anywhere you wanted on the resort...Then get dressed up for dinner.. We had a private candle light dinner on the beach (awesome experience). Drank and met a lot of fun people during the day and the sports bar at night. Didn't want to leave the resort at all. All in all, super fun !!!
“A great get away place in Jamaica...”
This was our FIRST time going all inclusive at a SANDALS hotel and it was great. Everything they say is true and pictures are as real as when you're there. You have so much going on that if you want to relax at the beach or pools 7 days seem to be short ... There are at least 10 or more different types of cousine at their restaurants and get ready to put on some lbs but its all good. You can do all kinds of water sports that are also inclusive in your package... The staff are all Jamaican and are sooo polite and oh boy did they pamper all of us tourists. Excursions to the outside of SANDALS makes it that much more exciting and you get to see what JAMAICA is really going thru, I will let you find out for yourself. BON VOYAGE ... YEAH MON Im sure you'll love it as we did and we'll use SANDALS again!!!
“Great honeymoon Hotel”
Fantastic hotel, food was brilliant, the staff were brilliant and the location was great.
“Great for honeymooners, but the food isn't great”
Beautiful resort, great location, the staff is friendly and helpful. This is really geared for people that have just gotten married. Although, older couples will have a good time too. If you enjoy drinking, you'll really love the endless amounts of liquor. If you go with several couples, it would also be tons of fun. My biggest complaint about this resort is the food is horrible. Lunch was simple & good (pizza, burgers, salads); it's hard to mess that up. The dinners where edible but I've better at chain restaurants. I would do an all-inclusive again, but find one with better food.
“Not bad..”
The staff was slow on getting you food and towls, the hotel was very well upkeep, the staff came at all kinds of hours to restock your frig and clean your room. Food was not bad. The beach was excellent and pools were very well maintained.
“Good but could have been so much better.”
The hotel was relaxing and enjoyable. Couples only added to the relaxation and maturity of the experience. The bartender at the Seaside Pool made mid-afternoon feel like 8 p.m. with a good game of Zumi Zumi to start the day off right! The Great House dining experience was fantastic, other than breakfast which was lacking in quality. Both reservation restaurants are not worth the wait and time, the Great House restaurants had better food, better service, and an all around better experience. The only real complaint I have is the lack of energy from the playmakers during the middle of the week. They seemed exhausted and overworked making the events they did put on half-hearted. On the excursions the Dunns River Falls was a very fun trip, however, the Cabana boat ride put on by Sandals was too long at the beginning and too short at the end (when you can drink and dance). It was also overcharged as the Dunns River Falls entry fee is only 20 dollars per person. I would not take the boat again. Other than that a fantastic experience!
“2 bad apples, mon!”
The best thing about this hotel is that you don't have to wear a bracelet or make reservations at the restaurants like many other all-inclusives. There are a lot of stairs. Go to Negril if you want a good beach. The worse thing besides late room cleaning were two particular employees: Earl, the fitness director who guides the morning walk and the boss at the breakfast buffet on the Riviera side whose name I missed. This guy is short, bald and wears flowy tan clothes. He barked at the servers every morning, even yelled at a vacationer when he got his own juice telling him "it looks bad to upper management", and lastly he firmly grabbed my arm one day to ask me how I was. Well, I was fine before he grabbed my arm! I didn't see him doing that to any guys or larger ladies, so you draw your own conclusions. I think the breakfast buffet would actually be better without him and the morning walks would be better suited for someone who is not disgruntled (Earl complained about his pay during our walk, saying he used to make more in Montego Bay's location, but that this location was closer to his home). Most of the staff are very good and say "good morning"; Earl's introduction to the hike was "Let's go" and he only looked back a few times to see if we were with him. Maybe he's just been doing it too long and needs a break; he seemed over it. These two bad apples didn't spoil the bunch, but I think if no one tells the hotel about them, how will they know?
