Fantastic!!!Posted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: Staff and beach
Cons: Wifi at the beach bar and in the rooms would be great.
Location: Everything to do is close by. My favorite is not so close however is worth the time Summer Set Falls spectacular!
My third stay here NOT my last! Kerry at the front decks remembers me every time since the first stay. She starts off my stay with a warm smile and a sincere "welcome home!" Miss Rose, Darren, Smiley, Speedy, Willie and Rerun are my extended family. Home is the best way to express my stay here! Thank you for making it great!!

Greatest place we've ever stayed.Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: Most everything.
Cons: the carpets in the hallways need refurbishing....
Location: The hotel is located near the White River and you can go tubing, or rafting close by. Also there are kayak type 2 seater boats you can use free.
Shaw Park is the oldest hotel in Ocho Rios. It's condition is not the best BUT the rooms are clean, the water is 'hot' in the showers, the king sized bed was extremely comfortable. The maid does a terrific job every day. The food is phenomenal and there is a wide variety at all three meals. Also at 3:30 every day there is 'tea'....consisting of sandwiches, coffee, tea. The drinks from the bar are varied and really, really, good. Tours are easily arranged through the on site rep. We are going to go back next year. There were many returning guests that we met. The staff can't do enough for you. The beach is beautiful and all the rooms are beach front.

No-frills Jamaican hotel on the beachPosted Jan 1, 2014
Pros: The people were lovely. I learned some patois and tipped generously. No tip jars in sight: I'm sure there were many people I missed tipping.
Cons: Water pressure in the showers for one thing. The food needs to be better. I did not gain any weight, so poor food might not be a bad thing
Location: We went to Dunn falls, much fun, expect to get soaked as you walk up through the falls. The rocks are scrubbed so you don't slip.
This is a friendly hotel with great service. The rooms were not great but they all overlook the sea which you could hear all night long, and the food was mediocre. I was happy to eat salads and bread, and they did make special vegetarian food for me. Breakfast was decent with eggs to order and bread and fruit. The toilet flush did not work, it was fixed immediately. The pressure in the shower was low, but the water was hot. The air-conditioning worked well, the room was clean. We used their kayaks. We played ping pong on a warped table but had great fun playing against Mr. Brookes, the life guard and local champion. This place is not too popular with Americans. We saw Canadians and Europeans, and some Jamaicans visiting from the US.

Horrible Hotel don't waste your money!!Posted Oct 26, 2013
I made a 4 day reservation @ a rate of $156 per night & checked out within an hour. This hotel is more like a $50 over night stop. There were no guest @ the hotel when I checked in. The rooms are key locked with a latch on the inside as security no key card. The same thing for the patio. The premises is dark & dingy in need of repairs. The lobby was dusty and had cobwebs. The sign in card states in large bold letters larger than your name that they are not responsible for any items left in your room. The entire beach is a 2 minute walk. The shower area by the beach needs to be fixed there were tiles on the ground. The entire hotel needs to be upgraded from ceiling to floor. When I told them that I was not staying they were not willing to work with me for a partial refund. Worse experience ever.

Glad you asked, I am about to write to the manager as well. My experience was a horrifying one, The furniture in the lobby was dirty (supposed to be white upholstered furniture), broken tiles in the shower, dangling faucet, not to mention unfriendly staff, unpleasant front desk receptionist, no one welcomes you when you arrive, torn and tattered place mats in the dining area, servers bring food I did not order, cold instead of hot tea, dirty pool so we were unable to swim. Shaw Park will never see me and my family again.

My summer vacation at Shaw park Beach HotelPosted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel location was perfect because I needed some time alone, and the beach by the hotel was that place to be away and alone for the weekend. The hotel service was very poor, I had to ask for soap to shower. I had requested a room with two beds because I was traveling with my sixteen years old son, I got one big bed that I had to share with my big boy. The hotel kitchen was filthy, nasty, you name it. The hotel needs major cleaning. The staffs were alright.
