I stayed at Shaw park with my family for my destination wedding. Everything was so amazing. The staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. The grounds were neat and tidy, albeit for a few stray cats. My wedding was handled professionally and even better than expected. The private beach is just that, private. You can't even see any other hotel unless you kayak out far enough. Every room has a front row view of the ocean. I would return in a heartbeat!

We had a great time here. You could relax or find something to do as much as you wanted. Every one of the staff was very friendly and always ready with a smile and greeting. Most evenings had something going like a special dinner, or some kind of show, dancing, singing, etc. There were a couple evenings we just decided to order room service and relax in the room. The food was great and with variety; we ate at all 3 restaurants. The facilities and grounds were well kept and always being taking care of daily. The location is beautiful inside this cove with rock cliffs on each side; lots of vegetation, flowers, and birds around. The Au Naturel beach is open after 5pm to those that don't want to get naked so you can go over and watch the sunset (you have to be naked if you are there before 5pm; it is not optional). The hotel arranged our trips to the Dunn's River Falls and Mystic Mountain. They also got us a taxi driver to take us into town for shopping and lunch and then he drove us up to a bar just below Mick Jagger's place which has a great view of the town and area. Mick did not come down to say hello but that was his loss. All in all, a great time and really glad we picked here to stay. Yeah, Mon!

Despite the lengthy ride from the airport (~1h45m) it was a pleasant trip. Took some getting used to being on the left hand side of the road but the driver seemed to not be bothered by it. :-)
We had a Premier Ocean room which was supposed to be "unobstructed views of the ocean and Tower Isle". Our room instead had an unobstructed view of the trees over the pool, and we could not see the beach but could see the distant ocean. Tower Isle itself was not visible from any angle or viewpoint. The following morning I stated my grievances to the front desk and fortunately we were moved to a room that perfectly met the room description. It made our trip (the view) even though we enjoyed most everything else outside the room. Never grew tired of the view though.
The food was well above average; the drinks were good and the hotel staff very, very friendly without being bothersome.
We had no goal or desire to leave the resort to site see or anything else although it looked like many of the guests did partake. We had everything we needed and wanted right there.
