Not at all impressed...

Posted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed here for a wedding, expecting big things. The hotel hallways smell like musty cigarette smoke and old food. The temperature in the rooms was all over the place as we slept, and the beds didn't even have comforters on them! The rooms needed updating, there was even a tube tv still in the room! The bathrooms were small and outdated. The hotel staff was average. I would never stay here again.

nice place

Pros: outside pool the best with bar service and being able to go down to a bar within the same building...
Cons: updating the hotel property. very dated better provisions for all the weddings they seem to have here.
Location: good really just wanted to enjoy this hotel and no need to go anywhere else.
great time, the outdoor pool made our trip even better, could have used an outdoor hot tub, also loved getting drinks and food by the pool. massage place was awesome for my mother, who had never had a massage. the whole place could have used some updating, especially in the rooms and bathrooms, maybe a little larger. having a grab bar in all the tubs in rooms would be a good idea. staff were very nice. some problems with getting things charged to the room. dining staff really nice.

Olympia?

Posted Aug 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
It is a relatively old hotel that needs to be refreshed. Sits on a lovely property and lake. Food is substandard and not worth the price. Rooms are a bit overpriced in today's market, perhaps that is one reason why this property is devoid of guests?

service was not good. When we checked in I gave the receptionist my credit card for incidentals, ( his word). When went to our room then to the pool with only our room key, no wallet. we ordered drinks and charged the drinks to our room. A few minutes later we where informed that we did not have a credit card on file. the pool bartender called the front desk three times and was told that they were too busy to look up our credit card. so my husband went to our roomand got his card. We only had an hour for the pool and half the time was taken up with dealing with this. I went t the front desk and they were not busy, the man who checked me in had to look at his computer for a very long time then said yes he did have a card on file for incidentals which included room damage only, not charging at the pool bar and resturaunt. (2) I was told for check out I had to be leaving my room. I could not do the paper work before we left. when we left at 11a there was a huge line and the guy at the desk said oh yes I could have checked out early. Bad communication. Huge unesessary line at 11a, everyone was very irritated. The hotel was very nice but the service was very unprofessional. Not relaxing

bad service

Posted Aug 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel itself is fine, but I was unable to enjoy my family vacation due to the incompetence of the hotel staff. First, they charged me 8 nights worth of pet fees instead of three. Once I caught their mistake, they made me come in the next day to speak with a manager. She was able to void the incorrect charges, but proceeded to incorrectly charge me an additional 176 dollars (I don't know where this number came from). When I checked out the next day, they tried to charge me an another 255 dollars, even though I had already paid for the hotel through hotels.com. Needless to say, I will never stay at this hotel again. I'm not sure if the hotel was trying to steal my money or if the staff was just that clueless. Either way, I'd urge others to avoid this hotel.

its a nice get away from home for families.

Pros: staff were very nice and friendly. and great Wi-Fi.
Cons: need renovation, and need to have somewhere to eat lunch. there was no place in the hotel to eat lunch.
the rooms and the hotel was nothing like the pictures. we got the nicest room according to the manager and it was very old room, our phone would not dial out. we had an old tube TV. the outdoor pool was a public pool so it was full of kids from the town. they did not serve lunch at the restaurant or room service. there was a nice balcony but no chairs to sit out and enjoy the beautiful view.

Out Dated Rooms

Posted Aug 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
As I walked into the Olympia I was amazed with the lobby. It was a very large room with a fire place and leather seats and couches everywhere. The look and feel was a good feeling. Check in was easy and the staff was very polite. The person I was with and I were escorted to our rooms. Upon opening the door to the assigned room we noticed that the room was not cleaned. It actually looked as if someone just climbed out of bed and there was garbage everywhere. We were told that it had to be a mix-up and another room would be assigned. As I entered my room the odor of old musty humidity came thru, could have been because the pool was just a few doors away! Everything was old in the room, kind of a 1980's look. I also requested a different room! The new room I was given was much nicer. It was the King suite on the 3rd floor with large room and hard bed, but it would do. As I enter the shower I noticed that part of the shower head was missing. The only setting was a hard stream of water. It took over 5mins for the water to heat up then the water wouldn't go down the drain. By the time I was done with my 5 min shower I was standing in ankle deep water. The rest of the place was actually very nice. The outside pool and back ground was just Beautiful. The indoor bar was very comfortable.

Unfriendly receptionist. Dirty room.

Posted Aug 17, 2013
Pros: The chef in the restaurant was friendly and did a great job.
When we were checking in, I happily told the receptionist that we came back after 34 years to stay there because we had stayed there on our wedding night. The receptionist just looked at me with a bored face. She didn't say welcome back or even make a nice comment. We drove out of our way to stay there. We will never go back. She could have at least smiled at us. On the other hand, the food in the restaurant that the chef prepared at breakfast was excellent. The room was not very clean. There were pills laying on the floor near the side of a chair from the prior occupant. They could have vacuumed a little better. Even my husband, who travels a lot with his job, thought the room wasn't very clean.
