Wonderful Staff and NightlifePosted Apr 21, 2014
We stayed here thursday - sunday and had a wonderful experience for our anniversary. Our room was the luxury suite and we had the perfect view with a patio. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. My boyfriend & I weren't sure of what to do in York at night, but our hotel was full of life! They have musicians come in and play til midnight on the weekends and we would just sit by the fireplace and listen all night. Wonderful experience!

Birthday week endPosted Feb 7, 2014
I paid for a nice ocean room with fire place and hot tub and when I got there they changed my room due to a problem in the first room. They were going to give me a room similar to the one I had, but buy the time I got to the front desk to get a new key that room was gone. They have me a room with no view and no fire place. Though the room was nice, it was not what I wanted or paid for.

water stains on the ceiling, no privacyPosted Nov 17, 2013
for a mid level room that ended up costing more than expedia quoted me and a jacuzzi that didn't work and then the front desk calling to ask if I was using it because the kitchen ceiling was leaking downstairs...I'll never go back or refer anyone to this hotel

Lovely little hotel.Posted Oct 11, 2013
Lovely little hotel. Tiny room, but super comfortable bed and certainly adequate for a short stay. Nice staff and such a gorgeous area.

great location outside of busy beach townPosted Aug 17, 2013
Location: we enjoyed the beach., walking around town, driving up the coast, visiting art museum.
This was one of the top bed and breakfasts at which we have ever stayed. Our room at Chapman Cottage was AMAZING, it was really like a suite. the breakfast was lovely, the tavern nice. the staff was friendly and helpful. We would go again in a heartbeat.

Lovely innPosted Oct 19, 2012
Cons: small room
Location: directly across from a pretty beach
The York Harbor Inn is in a beautiful setting, directly across the harbor beach and cliff walk. The restaurant is excellent. We originally were in room 17 which is in a building across from the main inn, but we could not get WiFi reception so switched to a smaller room in the main inn (room 29). Some of the rooms (including 29) have such slanted ceilings that you need to be careful not to knock your head. Nice touches include free coffee/tea/hot chocolate and cookies in the late afternoon.

Very unhappy uncomfortable stay not worth the costPosted Sep 18, 2012
Pros: It is clean, and the restaurant food was very good, but expensive
Cons: terrible, terrible bed, and lied to about the wi-fi, which was all but non-existent
Location: York Harbor and the surrounding area, especially the coast, is BEAUTIFUL
Our particular room was a second floor "Yorkshire" room. The room was a decent size with a queen bed, but only 1 chair. It did have a large bathroom, but most of it was an empty area containing only 1 chair. Without this section, the bathroom was average to smaller, with a small sink and countertop area. Our room did have a jacuzzi tub/shower. If someone in your party is over 6 feet tall, they will have a hard time in the tub/shower. The water pressure is ok, but the shower head is a bit low. Also, because of the tubs slant the shower head doesn't protrude out far enough. So, even for me at 5'9", I found it a bit hard to rinse my face and hair. Next, we had a queen bed that was extremely uncomfortable. My wife had to sleep on the edge of the bed because I was "stuck" in the pit, unable to move. I would continually end up back in this soft spot, regardless of how, or where, I tried to sleep. I did not sleep much at all because of this. Note, my wife is 115 lbs and I am 173 lbs, so the mattress problem is not due to our size. Lastly, if you want WI-FI, DO NOT book room #36. The free wi-fi continually connected/disconnected. I was unable to get online, and used my 3G cell phone to research things to do. The desk told me that "Comcast had a server outage in the Chicago area that has effected the entire east coast." Sorry, but I am not that dumb. As soon as I stepped outside I was able to connect with their wi-fi. We only stayed the one night so I didn't complain

Not if you want to sleep...Posted Aug 27, 2012
Pros: lovely breakfast selection and very nice staff
Cons: ancient mattress and noisey AC in an old house
The bed was THE most uncomfortable and old mattress with a concave, making sleep near impossible!! Topped by the dinosaur air conditioner unit, that was so unbelieveably noisey all night! It is also an odd collection of 3 houses that are the Inn, so not being in the main house, it felt rather 'bed and breakfast' (albeit an expensive one!). Charming area, great breakfast and great location....but that is the upside.
