Stay here to go to Zell
Do not try to check in off hours! We stumbled on the local Oktoberfest which was great fun, but one stays in Ohlsbach as a tourist to visit elsewhere.

A short break.
We only stayed for three nights, next time we will try and make it a week. The hotel, the staff and the area make it the sort of place you can feel comfortable staying in and visiting.

Overnight stay
Used this hotel as a stop over driving from Czech to Southern France. Very quiet, clean and good breakfast with a couple of local restaurants nearby. One of the shutters in our room did not close properly and they were not able to fix this so they were very apologetic and gave us a discount off the bill without our asking.

Cosy family riun hotel in the Black Forest
Large clean rooms, and quiet. Very helpful staff, the hostess provided is with all the inforrmation and the leaflets concerning the area, she even came back the next morning with material that she printed to answer some inquiry that she was not aware of in the first place. And the breakfast offers many options with an excellent quality and taste, particularly the pastries. The village offers little interest, you should have a car and then Offenbach, Freiburg, Strasbourg amd other places of interest are at a close distance. Not to forget the charming medieval village of Gengenbach. Hiikimg tracks also nearby.

Nice place in a small village
Providing you are allocated a room at the back (the road at the front can get quite busy in the morning), this is a nice place. The balcony is large enough to sit out on. The buffet breakfast is excellent. There is limited parking space - not quite enough if the hotel is full. Very little choice of TV channels in English, so brush up your German or French if you want anything other than CNN. The bathroom needed a bit of maintenance - the hand shower needed fixing properly.

We arrived late in the evening. There was no receptionist and the phoned we called ringed and lighted at the desk. Neighbours even did not get contact. It happend that week already more.

Stayed here to visit family in the area, very nice hotel, good for access to the Black Forest. Room was comfortable and breakfast was very good. Ohlsbach is fairly quiet, but Gengenbach is worth a visit if you've time.

Quiet friendly hotel
Comfortable, large room with balcony. Quiet location but easy access to Black Forest, Strasbourg etc. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good food & drink nearby. Plenty of walking direct from the hotel. Would stay here again.

Nice hotel, clean and comfortable
Stayed overnight as we were visiting friends nearby. Clean and comfortable, nice to have a balcony. Dogs were 10 Euros each, the owner seemed concerned by them at first but ours are very well behaved and used to travelling so not an issue. Had an excellent meal at `Tim`s Steakhouse` which is attached. Staff spoke English which was a real help as my German is poor.

Sort of hard to deal with
When we arrived, tired from our flight from the USA, we couldn't check in until 4:00pm, although they were at low occupancy, as we later learned. Then, after keeping ourselves occupied for 4 hours until we could check in, they couldn't find our reservation. The woman at the front desk seemed all upset, rifling through papers for ever, we were worried that they were sold out, 20 minutes later she decided to take us to our rooms. Bad customer service! The Hotel location, condition and stay were underwhelming, I wouldn't recommend it.

Strange service - peculiar experience
Strange experience. Customer service was basic and unfriendly. According to Hotels.com, check out was 11am. At 10.10am there was a knock on the door from management informing us that check out was 10am and asking us to leave! They also informed us that our car was blocking their (unlabelled) garage. Not sure why they didn't say this to us the day prior, when we parked there. Really uncomfortable experience. Very hot - no fan in room. Good breakfast.

Pleasant Hotel in a nice town.
Be aware! The hotel reception is closed between 1pm and 4pm so if you arrive during this time, you cannot check-in. Tim's steakhouse (attached to the hotel) is excellent and the staff were extremely helpful. Free WiFi is a great touch. I would use this hotel again for business trips.

Price wortht family hotel
Stayed one night off season. Well taken care off, great breakfast - restaurant closed on mondays. I guess target group is hikers, but if visiting companies in the neighborhood (in my case Lahr) and with you own car it is quite convenient and very reasonable price.

Alles gepflegt und sauber, obwohl die Einrichtung ein paar Jahre alt ist. Zum Frühstück gab es Wassermelone, mein Highlight! Alles gut, würden sicher wieder buchen, wenn wir geschäftlich dort unterwegs sind.

Check in was only from 16.00 and even when I called that I needed only the keys as we were busy all afternoon and evening it wasn't possible not even without accessing the rooms. That was very inconvenient and unhelpful. The rest was OK. Rooms are big, had a balcony, and a small sitting area, beds were OK, duvets were a bit small, bathrooms a tad small, hot and cold water for the shower hard to tune to the right temperature. Breakfast was plentyful and enough, cereals included gluten free varieties.

In der Beschreibung steht, das genügend Parkplätze vorhanden sind. Dem war nicht so , ich musste, auf dem Rathausplatz parken. Das war aber kein Problem, da der nur 2 Schritte entfernt war. Das Restaurant am Haus , kann man nur empfehlen, Personal super freundlich und Essen super.

Fast alles hat mir nicht gefallen, vor allem das Check in um 16 Uhr und das Check out um 10 Uhr ist überhaupt nicht fair. das Frühstück ist gut und die personal in Restaurant ist freundlichen und professionell, Die Rezeption ist sehr unfreundlich und eingebildet. Das Zimmer ist sehr alt und nicht sauber
