Beautiful Hotel

Great stay - the pools are fantastic (both indoor and outside)! Close to the lake, great view. Really nice staff.

excellent location

Pros: Everything about the hotel is very good.
Cons: raise the domestic hot water temp to 135.
Location: The hotel is in the heart of Kelowna. There are many different things to do within walking distance. (5 Min) The views are unbeatable.
The boardwalk is fantastic. All else was very good. The two problems were the air conditioning kept overshooting the room thermostat. the room would become too cool and then the heating would engage. The temperature of the domestic hot water was too low. when showering in the morning, the water temp was at times below 100 degrees F. Only had one warm shower in seven days.

The rooms are very comfortable and modern, the staff are all very friendly and we dined on the patio a couple of times and the food was awesome.

Good hotel but poorly trained staff

We have stayed at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resorts a number of times. The facilities are satisfactory but our two restaurant visits in their dining room have been highly disappointing. Inattentive staff, insipid service, and worst yet, incompetent and uncaring oversight. Our dinners sat on the pass for nearly 10 minutes, and when we mentioned it to the manager (who happened to be running food that night but was sidetracked with a guest), he was non-validating, even combative, and basically stiff-armed us in a very rude manner. While the meals were reheated for us, one of the dishes still remained stone cold. The chef came out and was apologetic, but the manager persisted in denying anything was wrong and was haughty, condescending, and dismissive in his dealings with us. We finally called the duty manager of the hotel over and she was able to handle the situation with consideration and finesse. She actually LISTENED, validated our experience, and dealt with us in a calm and even-handed manner. While we appreciated her coming over and talking with us, the restaurant manager's antagonistic posture throughout stuck in our craw and we will not be coming back to this property. Innocent mistakes happen in the best of places, but lack of a caring attitude and an intimidating approach to handling complaints are death knells for repeat business. It has been a week since the incident and no Delta senior management has been in touch with us. Very disappointed!

Lovely lake view, mountains, marina from balconies

Pros: Just about everything. Didn't get a chance to check out the casino this visit.
Cons: An hour earlier for check in: option of it would be nice. If parking was part of the room cost, even if a bit costs a few more $, say 'complimentary'
Location: Very close to the beach. We loved that the boardwalk along the lake is right along the restaurant outside. LARGE fish in the water when you look down!
We enjoyed our stay and our room. The mattress was just right! Very comfortable, we had a great sleep. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. We would wish for a couple of things: an hour earlier for checkin 3:00 instead of 4:00 as it is not convenient or wise to drive around in a vehicle with travelling items visible. By 4:00 the day is already stretching into evening. The second item, we could not locate the bathrobes. Overall, a beautiful location, a nice interior lobby, beautiful grounds. Very friendly and professional reception from the staff and the valet gentlemen were outstanding. We look forward to our next stay with this hotel.

Birthday Surprise

Pros: The hotel was friendly, right from the time we parked our vehicle and we were offered assistance with our luggage.
Cons: We ate at the dining room, can't remember the name, but its in the lobby. A little pricey for what we got and the food was just ok.
Location: The location is central and near the lake. It was a perfect location for Canada Day...it was where everything was happening.
My wife surprised me with a night at the Delta Grand for my birthday. It was July 1st and she requested a high floor and a room to view the fire works. The Delta Grand delivered!! We were given a room on the 8th floor with a birds eye view of the fireworks...it was awesome. At some point someone from the hotel slipped a card under our door saying they have a gift for my wife, but actually it was my birthday. We called and they sent up a piece of chocolate cake and strawberries, with two forks. It was very good!! It was an awesome evening and would suggest it to anyone that has a special occasion. Being Canada Day and all the festivities that were happening, it was a perfect time.

Really nice hotel, only downfall was there was 2 condom wrappers in the bed side table. Which my kid found. Yikes!
