Highways 70 and 15 intersect in the middle of Okeechobee. South from the town is the lake which bears the same name. Anglers can test their skills with the lake's fish stock. Visit the town in March for the Speckled Perch Festival or during the 4th of July to experience the cattle drive as it goes through town. A portion of the Florida National Scenic Trail rings the lake.
