We stayed for 4 nights and had a fabulous time. We were upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking the Dom. The staff were excellent, speaking good german and always happy to help. The location of this hotel is fantastic, opposite the Dom and next to the train station for easy access to the airport and day trips. The free mini bar was great and this was refreshed daily. The wifi signal was very good, unusually so for Germany.
The only negative was the breakfast cost of 32Euros, we only wanted a small breakfast so didn't want to pay this much for breakfast when we just had eggs and toast. Instead we had breakfast at Fruh which is a 5 minute walk away, this had a good selection at a fraction of the cost.

Nice hotel - close to Central station but not affected by station notice. Small room but well appointed and very clean. Good breakfast - nice omelettes made to order. Small bar - rather crowded sun and Mon as the 'Ice Bar' closed on those nights.

"Very comfortable hotel near Heumarkt and the Rhine"
This hotel is 10-12 minutes' walking distance (or a very short taxi or U Bahn ride) from Dom Hauptbahnhof. It is well located for Heumarkt and the Rathaus, shopping and dining options, and for transport to the rest of the city and beyond. The restaurant and bar were very good with extremely attentive staff. Breakfast was expensive at €29 per day (even for a five star hotel) but there are good options nearby as alternatives. I would definitely stay here again. Extremely comfortable.

"Noise from building work opposite spoilt the stay"
We had a studio room which was fine, the room cleaning service could have been better - little things like forgetting the spare loo roll on 2 occasions and no flannels left. The biggest problem was the noise from the building work going on opposite our room, it was 7-30am to about 5pm Mon - Sat. Not the hotel's fault they are a victim of someone building a large block of flats.
Food was good in the restaurant but I would have preferred that the person had swept the floor after we had finished our lunch and left - there were 2 tables occupied still eating, the time was 2-30pm just didn't like the person weaving in and out of the tables around us with his flat brush gathering up all the bits on the floor of the restaurant.
TV reception was good, plenty of UK channels. Very handy for the railway station but not the best general environment to take a stroll round.

We had a good 2 night stay. The room was nice and very clean. The corridors looked a bit tired though. The room was very quiet. The breakfast was nice and reasonable price. It was about 20 minutes to walk into the heart of the city and 10 minutes down to the river.

Ideally situated on the Rhine, Old Town is one of Cologne's most popular neighborhoods. Renowned for its historic cobblestone streets and town hall, Old Town is most famous for its love of Kolsch style beer and pub-tours around Alter Market Square. Old Town is also home to Great St. Martin, a Roman cathedral that has survived for more than a millennium.
