The property is well conserved and clean. The negative point is that the room/s have no windows but a little ventilation above the entrance doors (they are build around the yard..
The staff is very friendly and efficient. D`uring our stay in September is was mosquito season!!

Well situated at the edge of the old town opposite a beautiful park. There are many good, but slow-service, restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Reserve at least an hour's wait for food to appear on the table; this means that you can't be hungry if you want to eat in a restaurant. However, the food is always good when it arrives.
A taxi from the bus station charged 15 € to take us to the hotel. On arrival there the driver said that there were two hotels of that name and we needed the other one, so he drove another five minutes and charged another 5 € to dump us in another street, saying that it was one-way and he couldn't drive further but the hotel was only 50 metres along the street. It was 500 metres and turned out to be the hotel where he had first taken us. When we checked out of the hotel we took a taxi waiting outside and he charged 4.50 € to take us to the bus station. Moral - beware of taxi drivers!

The highlights are strong open wifi and excellent breakfast buffet..
They have a caged parrot in the breakfast area, probably speaking Latvian as I did not understand what it was saying ;-)
Room clean and comfy but rather small, luxurious bathroom with a huge bath tub..
Other details on the plus side: reasonably sized work desk and CAN open windows!
Excellent central location 2 mins walk from Roland statue Doma cathedral and other must sees for tourists ;-)
15 min by cab from the RIX airport, up to 30 with bad traffic and/or event obstructions in the city centre..

The hotel was gorgeous both in the room and the bar/restaurant. The bathroom had everything we needed, the bedroom was immaculately clean and comfortable. It was a little noisy with the trams going past but it wasn't a bother at all. The TV had access to lots of channels and the internet. The bartender gave me a Budweiser instead of a mimosa because he misheard and then got angry at me for not speaking clearly enough, even though I pointed at the menu and said to him 'mimosa cocktail please', but he made me the cocktail and took away the budweiser. The breakfast next morning was delicious with a MASSIVE selection. Hot food, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cold sliced meats, salads, all sorts! And tea and coffee at your disposal. Overall, I'd definitely stay at this hotel again!

A very nice hotel, perfect location to walk to old town or get a taxi to other parts of the city. decor is smart, rooms are decent and everything works properly (taps, showers, lifts, etc etc).
The only problem is that the staff are quite rude. Reception staff are a bit hit and miss - some were very friendly and others not so friendly. The guy at the bar downstairs next to reception was very rude on multiple occasions - charging us 3 Euros for tap water and to bring a bucket of ice to our room which eventually they brought up for free as it should be.
The mattresses seemed to be a bit "used" as there was a big dip in the middle of it which suggested the springs were broken. Don't want to know what caused that to be honest ;-)
Breakfast was ok, nothing amazing.
Shower is good and powerful. Always got hot water which is good.
Overall would stay again here but maybe knowing that I won't get much out of the staff.
