We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel and it was the most amazing experience for us.
Traditional style of decor but the facilities were very modern. The staff were most courteous and very helpful. Very easy to get to the historic Florence as the hotel provides a shuttle service upto 17:45.
Views from the rooms were very good.
Restaurant was a bit pricey and the menu was was very limited.
Breakfast was excellent, and they serve you near pool side. On the whole the hotel is very good value for money especially if you go during slightly off peak times.

Stylish with lots of character. Superb accommodation immaculately clean. Attentive staff. Cuisine excellent, although slightly expensive.
External facilities offer magnificent views over River Arno , Ponte Vecchio and central Florence.
Courtesy coach extremely convenient.
A wonderful hotel of which the owners should be immensely proud.

Overall a very nice, comfortable and quiet hotel. Like everyone else has commented, it is outside of walking distance to the city, unless hiking is your thing. The property has been a hotel for about 1 1/2 years. The oldest parts date back to the 13th and 14th centuries and probably was part of a watch tower system around Firenze. Later it became a convent. The attentiveness of the staff, quality of the facilities, and solitude of the location, will likely establish Villa Tolemei as a sought after more exclusive hotel for visitors to the Florence area.

For some reason I didn't notice the negative reviews before I booked (I must have been tired) or I wouldn't have booked this suite... but I'm really glad I did!
The whole place apparently just completed renovation a week before we arrived... it sounds like there's a huge difference in the hotel from those old reviews and now! Everything was new, including the elevator.
We really loved the suite, it was very thoughtfully and beautifully done, comfortable and in a great location. By far the best gelato we had in our trip to Italy was a block away... we went several times :-)
The staff was friendly and very helpful.
We definitely recommend the Palazzo Mannaioni!

My mates and I enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The staff were very courteous and friendly. They can also give you information where to eat the best panini and gelato and a lot more. The room was big and we loved the facilities especially the bed and pillows. I also liked the bathroom especially the overhead shower which is very modern. They are also very particular with the cleanliness of the room which we liked the most.

We stayed in Sopr'Arno for 3 days and loved the stay! Leonardo is really friendly and professional at the same time, and the bnb felt like a really comfortable second home in the center of Florence. We will be back, for sure!!

"Lovely hotel with a nice walk through the backstre"
Lovely hotel with a nice walk down the hill to reach town. Lovely view over Florence from our bedroom - really comfortable lounge area with a roaring fire. Nice big room with large marble tiled bathroom. We felt very at home. Only downside would be that the beds are quite hard! Everything else about the hotel was great!!

The name literally means beyond the Arno, the river that runs through Florence. On this side of the city, Piazzale Michelangelo provides a postcard-perfect view of Florence and the hills beyond. Palazzo Pitti has a rich history, and today houses a large number of museums and art galleries. The eclectic mix of Florentines living in Oltrarno make it a must-see for anyone seeking an authentic Florence experience.
