Amazing staff. Very pleasant stay.

The hotel was very quiet even though (as we found out in the morning) there were two busloads of band students, AND the lady in the breakfast room had the room all neat and tidy and lots of fresh great food even after feeding all the students. Great Staff.

The staff were very nice and I was surprised to see the level of cleaning going on for the chairs and tables in the breakfast room. Very impressed.

Good, but some strange things.

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable, updated room. Very comfortable bed with great linens. Fabulous breakfast - great variety, and very fresh/good foods. Good staff
Cons: Have curtains that can be closed. Have an elevator.
Location: Had to take a test for a license at the Department of Health. It was less than a mile away.
Nice staff, breakfast was fabulous, and very clean rooms. The linens were so clean and bed very comfortable. A couple strange things to know about though - Windows only had shears. Regular curtains could not be closed. Also this two story hotel has no elevator.(carrying luggage up stairs was a pain)

Pros: It was clean
Walls are too thin you can hear the people next door. After our outing the key didn't work for the outside door got to the room and key still didn't work

Roasting under a duvet!

Posted Dec 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
We don't like duvets! The problem for us is that they are too hot and heavy and there was no substitute for this European sweat lodge accessory. We would like a light blanket to use on the bed as an alternative. I had the same problem in Austria a few years back, and spent a week roasting under the duvet or shivering when I kicked it off because the duvet was also the top sheet. They are attractive and probably help reduce the housekeeping labor compared to a quilt, but are too much in a temperate climate like Olympia/Tumwater area. Otherwise, we would have recommended this hotel with no qualifiers.

This place ended up being cozy perfect!

Posted Dec 12, 2014
Pros: It was extremely comfortable.
Location: Tumwater Falls Park is two stop lights away.
My mother was flying up from L.A. and I was coming in from NY and we needed a place near South Sound Manor ASAP. We quickly booked the Best Western Tumwater Inn and it was great. The staff was not only gracious but really accommodating and helped us out with our local needs. (We were in town for a memorial.) The beds and linens were beyond comfortable and the morning's breakfast was far from "continental"...it was a full on spread! From waffles to eggs, toast, bacon, danishes, fresh fruit, yoghurt and more. --We certainly didn't expect it. Additionally, fresh coffee and hot chocolate are also available around the clock and though we didn't arrive in time for the 6pm cookie hour, the hotel staff offered its two weary travelers fresh cookies despite it being 11pm. (Thank you!) I'm a fancy pants gal who opts for boutique accommodations and I would definitely come back here. This is indeed a good option for visitors coming in to Lacey, Tumwater and nearby areas.
