Convenient location but...

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Cons: The water drip from the air conditioning system outside.
It was a nice hotel on the convenient location but we couldn't sleep well at all because the water had been dripping all night at outside of our room's window sill from the air conditioning upstairs. That made the tapping noise all night. It was too bad because everything else was very good including the breakfast.

Good for families with kids

Pros: Clean rooms, breakfast is good and the pool was comfortable.
Cons: When the booking was done for two rooms under one name, the hotel could have already assigned us two rooms that were connected.
Location: Olympic national park has variety of things to do. It is half hour drive to the visitor center.
We had two rooms booked for the long weekend trip. The hotel staff was so helpful and gave us rooms that were close to each other. The Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The housekeepers put extra towels in the room on request. The kids enjoyed the pool. The water was not too cold and just the right temperature. The hotel breakfast has variety of options and they even offer To Go bags in case you are not able to come down during the breakfast hours. Overall it was a pleasant stay

FYI: Rear door to 2nd floor is locked. I have to use rear door to 1st floor that has another door to 2nd floor. 2.6 mi away from costco. Otherwise, staff, facility, and cleanliness is excellent.

Great night's sleep, and pie next door! :-)

Loved the hotel, was very convenient as we were going to Victoria on the early morning ferry. Clean rooms, great breakfast, and a Black Bear diner next door. What's not to like about that???

After one horrible night in a resort in Quinalt lake, this was a perfect venue to rest.

Friendly town

Room smelled musty at first, ran the air conditioner and that took care of that! Very comfortable beds! Only problem was on our last day there, breakfast was almost 45 min late! But a very friendly town!

A solid choice for Sequim

Posted May 26, 2014
Pros: It is clean and new with good facilities (gym, indoor pool, HBO, breakfast buffet).
Cons: The included breakfast buffet is a mixed bag: pancakes, eggs, etc. look attractive but appear pre-fabricated and without flavor.
Location: It is located too far (at least an hour) from Hurricane Ridge and other attractions on the Olympic Peninsula. Port Angeles is a better choice.
I booked this hotel at the last minute on the Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend, because it was the only hotel with vacancy on the whole Olympic Peninsula. I felt the price was high (about twice that other hotels I was considering) but I was happy just to find an available room. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are not luxurious, but the building appears to be either new or well maintained. All the elements of the room (bathroom, bed, refrigerator and microwave, chairs) were clean, and there were no hidden surprises (mold, rot, etc.) that you sometimes see when older hotels get renovated. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well here. I stayed one night, and I would recommend the hotel, especially in the off-season (fall, winter) when prices are perhaps more reasonable.

Best night's sleep I've had....

Posted May 14, 2014
Cons: Before recommending a restaurant to a guest, the front desk should make sure it is open for business!
I visited Sequim on business and booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express because I felt the quality of their hotels is consistent. I found the room to be so quiet and the bed so comfortable that I slept better that night than I have in a long time. Sequim is interesting because their better restaurants are closed on Monday nights. I was limited to the restaurant next door to the hotel and there's a reason they promote "comfort food". Healthy food is absent from the menu!
