Close to I-80, the Henry Doorly Zoo and to Council Bluffs IA. I would recommend it to a friend.

Just ok hotel, small pool

Posted Aug 13, 2014
I was hoping this zoo was within walking distance of the zoo. Also, the pool was tiny and packed every time we went. Their chlorine levels also seemed off. The breakfast area was too small for the busiest morning we were there. The rooms were ok, not super comfortable but manageable. The area (location) wasn't the best. I didn't realize this until we were there. The breakfast was good but I thought it ended pretty early (9am). I think that's a little early for people on vacation, with kids. I was just a tad disappointed by the whole stay.

Mini Hotel with big ideas.

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Room was clean and the Schwans machine on first floor.
Cons: The size of everything.
Location: Enjoyed the zoo and Durham Museum as well as Old Market.
I was glad that the location was so close to the zoo, however it was misleading for the size of the hotel. The pool was extremely small and overcrowded. When I went down for breakfast there were no forks, out of coffee, and no syrup for the waffles, the spray to keep the waffles from sticking was empty as well. I came down a second time to try to eat and they were out of original pancake mix and sausage gravy. This is all after waiting 17 minutes the day before for a desk clerk to get checked in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone when you can stay slightly farther away for the same money and better service.

Comfort inn close to the zoo

Pros: Very close to the zoo, a gas station and fast food places. Quick access to I80. Not to far from downtown.
Cons: It is a bit noisy. The walls are thin, you can hear people talking in the other rooms. The air conditioner is very noisy too.

We stayed at this hotel for one night during the week. In general is not bad but has some issues that can be annoying. We rented two rooms. One of them had some bad smell from cigarettes. Also the air conditioner smelled bad when you turned it on. The walls are thin, you can hear people talking in the other rooms. The air conditioners are very noisy too, I had to turn it off to sleep but I could still hear the one in the room next to us. I could also hear the TV from the next room. Finally, there were two dogs in the room in front of ours barking from time to time and was very annoying when we were trying to sleep. Like most hotels I've been lately, the facilities for breakfast are small. Some people had to take the breakfast to their room because there were no more tables or chairs available. Other than that is not too bad.
