Room with a musty ordor

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Beautiful entrance. Staff helpful
Cons: Work on get rid of musty smell
Location: We watched July 4th fireworks at Memorial Park. Shopped at Columbia Mall.
The room had a musty smell. Ask to move to a different room. Hotel staff very accommodating. Move to upper level which was an improvement, however the room still has a musty smell. Beautiful lodge, but the smell was a definite turn off.

Location: A lot of quality restaurants were close by.
A little disappointed with outdated decor and amenities. However, staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Hotel was overbooked and they didn't even call

Posted Jun 15, 2014
We showed up to check in and were informed that the hotel was overbooked and so they booked us another hotel. The Regency Lodge didn't even have the courtesy to call and inform us ahead of time that we did not have a room, and we chose this hotel for a very specific reason. They clearly knew beforehand that they were overbooked, as the manager came out with a list of people and other hotels they had reserved rooms at. The manager was polite and apologetic and stated they would both refund what we paid for the Regency Lodge by contacting Expedia and also pay for our first night in the other hotel, however my issue is that they could have notified us before we even made the trip, as we would not have made the trip there had we known. I rated 2s because it was very disappointing, although it should be noted that I am unsure of the room cleanliness and comfort since we didn't actually stay there.

Not Like the Pictures...

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The hotel needs updated and the staff needs to be trained on appropriate customer service.
The room was damp and smelled like mildew when we arrived. You could feel the dampness on the floor and in the bedding. We had to buy Febreeze to get rid of the odor to sleep. The next morning, my husband went to the front desk to complain and they put a dehumidifier in our room that was so loud, my children could not sleep. They did not offer a new room or any partial refund. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and we will not be staying there again.

Good place to take a break.

I arrived late in the evening in a Thunderstorm. Upon walking into the lobby, I noticed it was decorated nice, and was inviting. No problems with checking in. The bar area was pleasant with room to move around. There were about two or three T.V's set a minimal noise level to keep track of the thunderstorms. The Indoor pool was closed due to state law during a Thunderstorm, it was open in the morning. I loved the fact there was a deep end of nine feet, along with a shallow end of course. the place was well let, easy access for everyone and very clean.
