A gem. Don't miss the chance to stay here.Posted Jul 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
This chateau was perfect. Great location, exceptionally nice proprietors who offered thoughtful service and helpful suggestions for getting to know the area. They had free bicycles that made it unnecessary to use a car for a of days. A great way to become familiar with the area. They also served a great local wine and beautiful breakfast. all set in the charming gardens looking out to the Loire River. I would love to go back!

Restful break in FrancePosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: The old world charm, the polite and friendly staff and the beautiful furniture and decor. 10/10 for the continental breakfast too.
Cons: We enjoyed a glass of Kir when we got back to the hotel in the evening and were dissappointed that they ran out of Creme de Cassis by day 2.
Location: The hotel is just across the Loire from one of the nicest chateaux at Chaumont, the location is pretty and quiet but close to all the famous chateaux.
This was an absolutely delightful hotel. It far exceeded my expectations and was peaceful, comfortable, friendly and very french! The breakfast was not included but it was well worth the 10 euros each day and we had unlimited good coffee, the best croissants that I have ever tasted, even in France, and plenty of fresh bread, cheeses, fruit etc. The hotel is just across the Loire from one of the nicest chateaux at Chaumont and there are plenty of good restaurants close by. All in all, a real gem in a beautiful area of France.

Cute and quietPosted Aug 26, 2013
Very nice. Very quiet. Rooms are small but nice. You will need a car to get there and to go anywhere. There is no food close by so eat dinner before you go back to the hotel for the evening.

A castle in the woodsPosted Aug 7, 2013
Pros: Appearance, friendly staff, cleanliness
Cons: Air conditioning may be needed on hot nights
Location: Close to Blois, nothing to do near by.
After visiting Loire castes you can improve your experience by spending a night in this shateau. An old place surrounded by woods. Very clean. Nice owner and personnel. Rooms with all facilities.

Wonderful Time.Posted Jul 19, 2013
Pros: Picturesque. Whole experience was what we were hoping for.
Location: We didn't get a chance to do and visit all the places we would have liked to have gone. So much to see!
Wonderful spot. Our hosts were very helpful among other things giving us a recommendation (and directions) to one of the best meals we have ever had.

DisappointingPosted Sep 15, 2012
Pros: The room was a reasonable size.
Cons: Rooms were not air-conditioned, but you couldn't open the windows at night to cool the room down as lots of bugs invaded the room.
Location: Isolated and peaceful. Handy location for visiting the main chateaux.
While I could not fault the cleanliness of the rooms, nor the helpfulness or friendliness of the staff, I was somewhat disappointed with the overall standard of Chateau des Tertres. The decor in the bedroom was tired and mismatched, not quite up to the label of 'shabby chic', and the glamour of staying in a chateau in the Loire Valley was somehow missing. Given the price of the room, I did not think this was good value for money.
