Annual Anniversary Trip- Wonderful as always!

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Beautiful property all around. Nice pool area. Many areas to just sit and talk. Lovely murals painted all around. A Gem!
Cons: Maybe some upkeep in the bathroom. Leaky faucet worried me about water conservation.
Location: Nick's is THE place to eat. Right up the street on the rt hand side from hotel is a great Chinese place. Beach across the street w beautiful view.
We love to stay in Room 202. It has an ocean view. This hotel is located across the street from the ocean.. only takes a few minutes to walk to a gorgeous vantage point or a bit longer to walk all the way down to the water. The room is clean, bright, comfy. There are tons of pillows (I LOVE pillows). The artwork in the room is by a regional artist and I am sure one of these days I am going to buy one of the pieces:) Pricing for this hotel is one of the lowest in the area. I mean, come on...it IS Laguna Beach after all so don't think you are staying anywhere near the water for less than $250 (normally). We enjoy off-season pricing and the bonus of less crowds. We thoroughly enjoy the kindness of the owner. She is very helpful in finding things to do and the best places to eat. This is a quiet property (street noise is pretty heavy Friday and Saturday but didn't notice it with the sliding door closed). I hate to blow the "secret" but I must say that if you are going to Laguna beach- Stay here:)

real gem of a boutique hotel in Laguna Beach

Posted Jan 21, 2015
Pros: Location, beach access
Location: Great for art buffs. Lots of galleries around town. Wonderful beaches and scenic vistas.
Gail, the owner was very welcoming and helpful from the time we arrived. Great spot if you want a small quiet place that still has some amenities. Pool is small but uncrowded. The property has some arty (but tasteful) touches. Handy having a fridge and microwave in room.

Pros: Atmosphere, and the fact you can smoke on your room's the patio.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: It's Laguna Beach, no more need be said.
Our favorite hotel. Laid back, friendly accommodating staff, & you can bring your dog.

Quaint, reasonably priced hotel near the beach.

Pros: Reasonable rate and nice view.
Location: About a mile north of Laguna Canyon Road and the main part of town. Also, less than 10 miles south of Newport Beach.
Great rate as far as Laguna goes. The room was nothing fancy, but the pool and common areas were very nice and allowed a great view of the ocean. The owner, Gail, was also very friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider returning, and also recommending to others.

Great Convenient Location in Laguna Beach

Posted Dec 8, 2014
We decided to stay here due to the close proximity to the Xterra Crystal Cove Trail race, and make this a mini runcation. Unfortunately, our race was postponed due to rain but when it's rescheduled, we'll be sure to stay here again. Hotel is close to everything. It's an older hotel but very well maintained and cozy. Heather, the young lady at the front desk, was very professional, helpful and welcoming. We appreciated the free parking, internet and breakfast. The towels were soft and fluffy. There's a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room as well as a small patio. Oh and the bathtubs are deep for those who like to indulge in a relaxing bath.

Was greeted by a very cheerful and warm lady who sincerely wanted to be helpful and answer my questions. The room was spacious as was the bathroom that had a soaker tub and very clean. There was some traffic noise as the hotel is on Pacific Coast Highway.

Pleasantly surprised!

Pros: Enjoyed the artistic and positive vibe. Generous room size! Very comfortable bed, plenty of pillows and cushions, and bonus breakfast bites.
Location: Near Irvine, and the rest of Laguna Beach.
Just wanted basic accommodation at Laguna Beach (lovely location) in order to be able to easily get to Irvine (work). Needed parking for the rental car as well. Was very impressed by what we got and would stay here again, and would definitely recommend to others.

Classic comfort

We spent 5 days here and enjoyed every minute. The property offers a pleasant reminder of days gone by when the owner was present and staff actually cared about guest satisfaction. Not fancy but nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Beach access close by and a convenience store next door. Free covered parking on site. Local artists display their works here. We will return.
