Wish there were more Ayres locations!Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: The staff was very friendly, especially Alex the breakfast chef! The hotel was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and loved the happy hour.
Cons: Since we were there a week, the maid could have cleaned out our soap dish, I know it's a minor thing but its the little things that make a difference.
Location: Close to several beaches. A great location if visiting LA and San Diego area's and don't want to change hotels.
We decided to visit California during our kids spring break and with so many hotel choices to choose from, it was hard to decide which is the best based on reviews alone, unless you've visited the area before. We finally decided to on the Ayres based on a recommendation of a friend (and of course their good ratings) and so glad we did! That being said, if I am ever in California again, I will absolutely stay at an Ayres Hotel and not bother looking into other hotels. In fact I have already recommended the Ayres to business clients I know that travel to California. This is not your typical hotel "chain". Everything is extremely clean (especially the bathrooms), the staff is very friendly and they provide a "happy hour" reception, including hot fresh cookies, during the week and an excellent breakfast each morning. The rooms were a good size for a family of four, and included a wet bar type area with a mini fridge and the sink area was separate from the shower/bathroom area. The pool and hot tub were very nice too. They provided you with fresh towels for the pool that were not the thin worn out type towel you might get at other hotels. If you ever get the chance to stay at an Ayres Hotel, book it! The customer service is outstanding and you won't be disappointed.

Great Find !Posted Jan 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
What a pleasant surprise. This was our first visit to any Ayres hotel, and everything was just right. The room was spacious, and the free breakfast was as good as any we've encountered, which included real eggs, a self-serve waffle maker with the thick Belgian waffles, and omelettes made to order. The bed was very cozy, and the hotel is about 5 miles from Laguna Beach. An overall easy experience, with a subtle touch of class throughout.

Felt Like HomePosted Jan 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
Really enjoyed our 4-night stay. The executive room was almost perfect, need a bigger screen tv can't really see it from the couch. Staff was very friendly even let us check-in a little early after a 4-hour drive it was a nice effort. Breakfast was great, the room needs to be better organized to accommodate the larger crowds in the morning. Will be staying there again.
