One night stopover

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: Convenience, very helpful staff.
Cons: Breakfast (in an average room) was included but was all on disposable plates, cutlery etc, but given it was a 'transient' hotel perhaps that's ok.
Location: Ten minutes walk to the lovely beach and marina. Restaurants nearby (including the excellent Tavern, five minutes walk up the hill).
Stayed at the hotel on the way from San Diego to Los Angeles, as it was convenient for Interstate highways. No difficulty finding or leaving it (as a complete stranger to California.

Convenient and clean hotel

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Clean spacious and convenient
Cons: Limit number of guests to a room
Location: Walking distance to everything you need.
We went for a three day stay to attend a family wedding in Pine Parks. Hotel was close and within walking distance to harbor and beach. Also very convenient to grocery and shops.. We could see the water from a peek view from our room. Parking was available

Good stay with one exception

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: The staff and the rooms
Cons: see my comments on my experience. Can someone tell me why I'm getting an addition charge of $20 when I pre-paid my stay???????
Location: Great location. We had been to Dana Point before and love it. We were there for a concert/dinner.
The location of the hotel was great. Everyone was friendly. The rooms were clean. I liked the big bath tub with the water jets but didn't use it but for a shower. One only bad comment would be the breakfast. I would have like to have had cream cheese with my bagel and real butter. The eggs were tasteless and were more like powered eggs.

Very centrally located to many beaches

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Great location and wonderful staff.
Cons: Pool area...wish is was a bit bigger to accommodate more people.
Location: Beaches centrally located to hotel. We ended up driving one afternoon up to Burbank for a Warner Bro's backlot tour and it was about 1 1/2 hours away.
The 4 days of our stay we were able to enjoy 4 different beaches, all within a 5 - 10 minute drive. While the beach at the Dana Point Marina ended up being our favorite, we did try Doheny State Park beach, Aliso State Park beach and the Laguna beach. The hotel itself is beautiful with nice rooms and facilities. The only downside is the pool area. It was a great pool but there was only room for 2 lounge chairs and 1 table so if more than 4 people were at the pool it was too crowded to stick around. Which for us wasn't too much of a problem since we wanted to spend most of our time at the beaches anyway. However all the staff at the hotel was great. They provided excellent recommendations for dinners and were helpful with any other issues we had, like requesting a late check out of about 3 hours so we could enjoy another beach day before our plane left.

Nice location but average mid range hotel

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Just the location but I am sure there are other hotels in the area.
Cons: Its an old hotel so not much I quess. The breakfast can be a little better and go until 1030 am
The rooms were clean and the bathroom nice with jucuzzi bath. The pool was very small and not nice at all. The breakfast was middle of the road. The place is probably worth the price but not more than 200.00 per night. Its only really good point is the location is good

Don't stay here

Posted Aug 21, 2014
The staff was polite and professional. The hotel however is just about on top of Pacific Coast Highway and the traffic noise from loud music to motorcycles kept me up all night. The elevator didn't work, the lobby A/C didn't work, my room air conditioner sounded like a freight train every time it cycled on, and the pool was embarrassingly small. For a little bit more money I found much nicer places to stay just down the street. I'm a pretty positive person but I have to tell you, this is the worst hotel experiance I've ever had.

We enjoyed our stay. Very quiet for being on PCH and we had a view of the ocean. The staff was very polite and extremely helpful.
