“A great place for families or business travelers.”

The hotel is in a great location. My room had a nice balcony with a view of the ocean. Having the 2 room suite made a huge difference in the comfort. The bed and linens were clean and very comfortable. There were two 37 inch flat panel TV's in each room. There was ample room to relax or get work done. The breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast which is always a good deal. I have to come to the area on business a few times a year and I will be staying here again.

“Great Location”

The hotel is conveniently located along PCH. Across the street are a couple small restaurants and fast food places with easy access to state park. The room was very comfortable. I enjoyed the large whirl-pool tub after a long day. Breakfast is small but includes all the basics. Would definitely stay here again.

“Birthday Celebration”

From the moment we entered the lobby, we were greeted by a lovely, smiling lady. I was celebrating my son's birthday by having him and his two children there for the weekend. We had a refrigerator for our snacks, televisions in both rooms and lots of room to lounge around. We will return again as soon as we can.

I have nothing bad to say about my experience at the Best Western Plus Marina Shores Hotel. I have never written a review before, but I was so pleasantly surprised with the staff and stay that I had to let people know. We were there for 5 nights and 6 days for vacation. We were first greeted by Bartos who was a pleasure to work with and provided the best customer service! I have booked hotels online and could tell you horror stories so I was nervous to say the least, but was pleasantly surprised by the spacious room and view from our balcony. It set the tone for a wonderful vacation. The complimentary breakfast provided was the best I have seen...a good variety and they were great about keeping things stocked. The room was clean and always taken care of...no one was banging on our door first thing in the morning...we put our do not disturb sign out until we left for the day and it didn't matter what time we left, the room was always attended to by the time we returned. It made our long days easier to come back to a relaxing room.

Our room was much more solid and comfortable than other Holiday Inns I have stayed in. It had a very high quality bathroom, enough space to move around in, and plenty of extras like refrigerator and micro-wave. Parking was easy and close and the staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was tasty and ready on time, but the space was a little small at top capacity. All in all, it was a very nice "home" to come back to and we'll be going there again, I'm sure.

We had no idea what to expect and were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. We chose a view of the beach and changed our mind for the jacuzzi tub. We were not disappointed. We checked in on a Sunday afternoon and checked out Monday afternoon. They also serve free breakfast which we just about missed. Don't expect Denny's Grand Slam but it is a good breakfast spread with bacon, eggs, pancakes, creals, oatmeal, bagels, muffins and lots of coffee and juices. The only negative which would not deter us from returning is that you can hear traffic all night long. Again, this would not deter us from returning and in fact, we plan on returning in a few months to celebrate our anniversary. I would still give this hotel a "10" overall.

“Doheny Blues Holiday Inn”

The main reason we booked this hotel was its proximity to the Doheny Blues Festival, in walking distance. We had a wonderful room that had a nice view of a chaparral area with all sorts of birds. The room was large, very clean, and had a larger than usual refrigerator to handle a bottle of wine or two. The room and hotel were very quiet, even with the festival goers. The beds were so comfortable, we looked forwarded to crashing after a day at the festival. The only drawback was the very small sink area, but it wasn't much of an issue, just when storing toiletries and make-up. We plan on staying there again next year, Super location and super price through Expedia.
